I agree. Yet so many say he's simply not up to first grade. Frankly I think he's made for first grade.

But then people say the same about Hunt, that he's simply not up to it. I disagree wholeheartedly. If he were given the fulltime 7 jersey for 6 consecutive games he would make it impossible for Wallace to get back.

+1.

After his poor debut behind a shit pack he was getting bagged from pillar to post. He has the goods.

not until he ups his talk on the field, hes too quiet for hb atm, its probably something that will come with confidence. He can also have trouble getting into games when in the halves and often comes in and out of a game, so consistency over the 80 is also a problem. Mind you this is from what ive seen of him in first grade (QC & NRL) in the halves, I think his current role suits him well for this time in his development.

Im not convinced he has 'x-factor', hes a strong runner and runs good lines, i havent seen 'x-factor' in terms of what a Hodges or Inglis offer yet though. I'll hold judgement until i see what he can do in the QC.

Dane Gagai will be pushing Kemp hard for a wing spot next season.

Alex Glenn to stay in the centres next year perhaps?

He's definitely one of our best 17 players but it depends on whether they want both McCullough and Hunt in the team with Glenn in the centres, or just one of the two hookers with Glenn as the utility on the bench. I don't think we could have both Glenn and a reserve hooker on the interchange. Hopefully that all makes sense haha

Can't see Glenn cracking a permanent backrow spot either considering the strength of Parker, Teo, Gillett and Thaiday.

I'd be pretty keen to see Glenn given a centre spot for a long period.

No dobut Glen is a great defender but we hardly get any points out of him. If he can somehow improve his attacking side of play then i would be happy for him to play left centre next year!!

I don't mind Hunt in the team at the moment he's gaining valuable experience, but unless his long term role at the club is going to be at hooker, it would be better for him to play as a halfback in the QLD cup. So, when both Hodges & Glenn return I think he's the one to slip off the bench.

Dane Gagai is the man. Give him a full off season in the weights room this kid could play centre or wing.
Played inside centre for Brisbane Boys College in GPS schoolboys rugby and was also captain.
He is also related to Big Dell. Dell has huge wraps on him 'best young talent since Tuqiri"
I'm pretty sure he was referring to Elia.

I have only seen the guy play a couple of times, so I am certainly no great authority on him.
However, what I have seen, I was very impressed with the way he moves - he seemed to have an almost Brett Kenny like quality aura about him ( for our older readers ).

He seems to be very natural and a bit different.

All I will say is that I noticed something other than the run of the mill quality of many others and I will follow his progress with interest.

Agreed.

I think why some people see him in under 20s and don't think he's got "x factor" is because, unlike everyone else in that shit fest of a comp, he doesn't do flashy chip kicks, flick passes, etc. He plays real football. So by comparison of the show ponies like Ben Barba, he looks dull.

He's not. He reads the game exceptionally well and times his runs to perfection. He's made for first grade. If not this year, then next year for sure. If we can't get Inglis I'd have NO problem with Copley being first choice left centre.

If we dont get Ingliss then Copley has to be left Centre IMO. Big and strong and can score tries. He will handle it for sure!

Totally disagree, the "X-factor" is not about only about the flashy stuff, but the natural ability, talent and physical capacity to make a difference in a team.
Copley is definitely solid, but he's not a game breaker. He is first grade material though!
But then again, so are Glenn and Beale...

Gagai on the other hand, does have that "X-factor" IMO, as does Blake Ferguson.
I'd like to have a strike centre on the both sides of the field, and obviously Inglis would be the perfect fit, but what are the alternatives?
Given our lack of depth in the backs, I think a promissing 20 y/o like Ferguson is worth a punt, that's all.

supposedly tariq sims signing with the cowboys is a definate. What is this bloke like, i have heard good things? Bit of a shame we dont have a young prop coming through our own ranks so we wouldnt have to go to another club for props but our under 20 props are both 17 so i wouldnt think they will be right until back end of 2012.

If the rumours of Tariq leaving are true, then it is a real shame...that kid has talent.

I reckon we should be making a play for Michael Jennings, while the Panthers are focussed on Inglis...any thoughts?

Picking up Jennings would be awesome, I can't see it happening though.

Just thinking that after going from the Panthers highest re-signing priority, to on the back burner waiting to see what happens with Inglis may have stirred him up a little?

Either way I'd much rather see us purchase a centre for next year than to pin our hopes on Copley...I'm not as convinced on Copley as some.
