Man that is horse shit!! I knew we would lose a few young props. [icon_thumbs_do

Maybe Ashton will follow him.[/quote:c2lm3cyf]

I hope we don't lose any of them [icon_thumbs_do

Since Winter is gone Blake Ferguson from the Sharks would be good IMO, that guy is very talented.
He can play centre as well.

EDIT: Confirmed he's leaving the Sharks end of this year, clause in his contract if Stuart leaves.

That's piss poor news regarding Tariq. Was really looking forward to seeing him crack into first grade with us.

Ferguson has a lot of good attributes but his brain is not one of them.

Bit weird that he has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave the Sharks if Sticky goes. I can understand an established player with close links to a coach having one but not a rookie in his second season. Guess the Sharkies were really keen to sign him up.

I think Blake could be the next star...
His quick, big, strong, awesome under the high ball, reminds me of a young Greg Inglis!!!

Signing young Ferguson would be a fairly big kick in the teeth for all our young backs coming through the ranks IMO.

Agree however he would be an awsome prospect no doubt [icon_confu

we have awesome prospects ... IMO if we are going to sign another outside back it should only be if we can get an Inglis type player. someone who is already a superstar

you are on the money you big unit!! icon_thumbs_u

I know it's the Telecrap, and thus it's likely to be crap, but it'd be funny if it was true: Page 58 states that Karmichael is "bored" with AFL and wants back in to the NRL or Union overseas.

Hunt just wants to be back in the limelight.

Falou is now the favourite child.

Looking at next season, I see Gagai as an awesome prospect and Copley as a maybe.
I do believe we have a "need for speed" in the squad, with only Kemp and possibly Hoffman as genuíne speedsters.

If we are to be genuinely competitive for a top 4 spot next year, we need a starting left centre and we are short in depth in the wings/centre positions IMO.
Here's my view of next year's squad...

FB – Hoffman (Gagai) - We are really well covered in this position with Yow Yeh, Kemp and even Hodgo if necessary.
W – Yow Yeh, Kemp (Copley) - I guess Gagai would be the emergency here. Not sure whether Rivett has the goods…
C – Hodges, ??? (Beale) – As left centre starter Inglis would be awesome, alternatively this is where I would put Blake Ferguson. Rhys Matsen (U20’s captain) has really impressed me this year and would be my 3rd choice.
5/8 – Lockyer (Norman) – Hunt as a 3rd option
HB – Wallace (Hunt) - Hopefully we won't be missing 3 of Locky, Wallace, Norman and Hunt at the same time!
FR – Tronc, Hannant (Kenny, Dodds, Anderson) – 3rd options would be McGuire, T. Sims and Andrew Clayton who is doing a good job in the U20's.
H – Macca (Hunt) - I really rate Baptiste of the U20's and can see him overtake both Hunt and Macca in the future.
2RF – Thaiday, Te’o (Gillett, Glenn, A. Sims) – 3rd options with Dunamis Lui, Kurtis Lingwoodock and Mboya Adams (very raw U20, but plenty of potential IMO)
Lock – Parker (Gillett) – 3rd option probably Glenn or any combination with other backrowers

Even if the Sims brothers do leave the club, our depth in the forward ranks is amazing when you think about Rohan Ahern, David Hala, the younger Sims (Korbin) and Setu (Waita) and a few other U20s waiting to get a toe in…

audragon, all of our back three are genuine speedsters. we all know Kemp;s pace, but Yow Yeh is also very quick. Hoffman also looks to have some pace about him. So next years back three are all young, talented and quick. the future certainly looks bright.

Copley has the x factor.

I agree. Yet so many say he's simply not up to first grade. Frankly I think he's made for first grade.

But then people say the same about Hunt, that he's simply not up to it. I disagree wholeheartedly. If he were given the fulltime 7 jersey for 6 consecutive games he would make it impossible for Wallace to get back.

Copley reminds me of Chriss Lawrence. Good prospect IMO. Plus he plays left centre so Hodges can play right centre

Entirely agree with the back three, but Yow Yeh is well short of Kemp's or Hoffman's pace. He does make up for it in other aspects of his game, like his aerial ability and foot work.
I'm not so sure of Copley's x-factor. At least I heven't seen much of it in the U20's (and I do watch most of their games), but even if he does make the cut, who do we have as quality backup for the backrow other than Gagai? (I see Beale more as a utility tbh)

Haha, someone's gonna pull you up on that.
