If the rumours of Tariq leaving are true, then it is a real shame...that kid has talent.

I reckon we should be making a play for Michael Jennings, while the Panthers are focussed on Inglis...any thoughts?

I read on a statement put out by Penrith CEO Mick Leary regarding their contract situations with a number of players just before, it said they are deep into negotiations with Jennings and Gordon's mangers and as a result of the salary cap increase (which is to be ratified) they have started talking to Frank Pritchard.

To me that means Jennings will stay at the very least, probably Gordon too. Interesting that Pritchard is 3rd in that line though eusa_think

Pritchard is shit they would be better off not signing him at all.

[icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. Your grasping straws buddy, Pritchard is one of the league's best second rowers.

You're kidding right ?? [eusa_eh

He was pretty awesome last night against the Dragons ..... quality runs and tackles, offloads.

The guy is a machine icon_thumbs_u

Pritchard is a gun on his day, it isn't his day as often as it should be though.

That's why I think he's shit, seriously he's like Jarrad Hayne but at least he managed to pull 8-9 good games together, Pritchard for the last 3-4 years that i've watched him has pulled off one to two good games a year.

No I'm not.

Good for him, he's filled his good game quota for the year then I assume [icon_lol1.
He's not a machine, I would have any one of our current backrowers above him, including Glenn and Gillett, every single day of the week.

Admittedly, I haven't watched too much of him this year(2-3 games) but if the past 3-4 years is anything to go by then I still consider him an ordinary player overall.

We're not going to sign Pritchard whilst we have back-rowers coming out of our ears.

Versatility behind signing of Tariq Sims

THE Cowboys' recruitment drive has snared another promising young player with Broncos forward Tariq Sims signing for North Queensland for the next two seasons.
The younger brother of NRL regular Ashton has been one of the leading lights in the Brisbane under-20s side and has also been training regularly with the first-grade squad.
Standing at more than 190cm, able to play in either the front or back row and boasting a motor that can churn out 70-80 minutes on a regular basis, his ability to play was unquestionable.
But according to Cowboys recruitment manager Adrian "Happy" Thompson, it was his attributes as a bloke that most impressed the club.
"He's a very good lad with very good character, he has the attitude and the will to succeed," Thompson said.
"He's obviously been going well in the 20s and he's been 18th man a number of times for the Broncos in firsts.
"We're impressed with his versatility at prop, he has good leg speed and a good workrate.
"He also plays close to 80 minutes up front which makes for pretty impressive stats."
Sims is the first of many signings likely to be announced in the coming weeks, with the Cowboys in the midst of a major clean-out following three successive years without finals football.
In the forwards, the club has already lost Antonio Kaufusi and Manase Manuokafoa (both released) as well as Steve Rapira (Warriors).
Steve Southern, Clint Amos and Carl Webb are also extremely unlikely to be offered new deals while hooker Anthony Watts will depart for the Sydney Roosters at season's end.
Mitchell Achurch, Isaak Ah Mau, Nick Slyney and Dane Hogan are also off contract while the club is fighting to nut out new deals for Willie Mason and Luke O'Donnell.
Grant Rovelli and John Williams are two off-contract backs fighting for new deals while it is understood Ty Williams, Don Malone and Obe Geia will almost definitely move on at season's end.
That leaves the Cowboys' recruiters a major job to rebuild the roster and talks are continuing with high-profile players in Sydney.

Yep, Sims has given us about 10 good games max for all that money he is on.

Sims has performed in as many games as Wallace has. It just isn't good enough time to go big fella

It's OK. He busts his gut and tries really hard and is very involved. So it's OK. icon_thumbs_u

OH FFS, are we going to bring Wallace into every thread? *Sigh*

As much as i like Sims, we can handle losing him for the fact that we have so many second/front row options at the moment

Anybody got a rough idea on how much Sim's is on? I heard he is on a very good salary! Firday night Rabbit's was saying Sims was leaving the Broncos! Doesnt suprise me at all!!
