Rather than going after Inglis, what about the other young centre for the Storm, Dane Nielsen? Not as much money and I think he is going to develop into a very good player.

Inglis is DA MAN! He would also fit straight in with Lockyer.

Hoffman/Lockyer/Wallace/Inglis/Hodges/Thaiday/Teo/Glenn/Gillett + all other youngsters with a years more experience Broncos are a real shot at winning the title next year.

Rather than going after Inglis, what about the other young centre for the Storm, Dane Nielsen? Not as much money and I think he is going to develop into a very good player.

We have a truckload of space in the cap and we've lost one of the best players in the business and you think a rookie like Nielsen is an appropriate replacement instead of Inglis? He might be a very good player in the future but he won't be half the player Inglis or Folau are.

Yeh, I do, trying to learn from past mistakes about putting all of our eggs in one basket, for what Inglis will cost we can buy Nielsen and another centre, so when Hodges moves on they will both be ready (along with Copely, Beale or whoever comes through our system) to fill the void.

And you would be a brave one to predict what Nielsen may or may not be in the future. Look at how much Renouf imrproved over the course of his career.

Nielsen is hardly a rookie, in age anyway, hes at least 25. Copley can do what Nielsen can and has a lot more potential.

I can see where Lynx000 is coming from. Devu all over again. Say we go all out and get GI but we have to loose Copley and say Beale. Then two years down the track GI wants to leave and Beale and Copley are two of the best youngsters going around and we have lost them.

I say go for GI but if we have to offload any youngsters then forget it.

I think Lynx doesnt want to see another Folau situation where we loose Boyd, Hannant and Ennis

We don't have to offload anyone Folau's salary straight to GI.

I'd imagine the Rebels would be chasing Inglis hard when you think they missed out on Folau.. I am kind of over the Broncos recruiting players, I hope we can get back to the glory days when we rarely ever recruited.

But mate, we're forced to recruit players because everyone else has taken out home grown talent! (Boyd, Hunt, Taylor just to name a few in the past few years)

Yeah I know you have to recruit but would prefer it to be kept to a minimum if possible.

I agree with Nielsen, as much as I would love Inglis I think we could better spend the money on a good couple of players. I would not be opposed to having Tate back too he would be way less than Inglis.

We need Inglis.
We don't need more average backs, FFS!
We have plenty who can play in the backline who are good, we need "very good" game breaker type players like Hodges/Inglis, not LOLsen, I'd rather spend the money on speed boats and renovations than Nielsen.

We have Beale, Kemp, Winter, Yow Yeh, Hodges, Glenn, Gillett, Te'o, Hoffman, Norman, Copley, all those can play in the backline without a problem, we don't need more "good" players, we need a Very good player to replace Folau, Inglis is exactly that and even better.

So you'd rather take a chance on Nielsen, Beale and Copley rather than buying into a known performer like Inglis? Yeah, he might leave when his contract is up but so might any of the youngsters. They end up playing the house down and ESL or Union come knocking? We'd be in the same situation anyway.

We need a replacement for Folau now not three years down the track. Three years from now Hodges will be gone and so will Lockyer. We will have the cash to keep Inglis and recruit other players.

Believe me I am not anti buying GI, as long as we don't sell the farm to do so. It all may be a moot point anyway if he does not come on the market or the Rebels go after him with the money they put up for Folau.
