PRE-GAME PRE-GAME [Round 5, 2023] Broncos vs Wests Tigers

Well, if its good enough for the Storm.

Best place to beat the Tigers (who are looking at a fifth straight win against us believe it or not!) will be to target Brooks on the left edge.

One guy who Brisbane should be closely watching as a potential Arey replacement in a year or so is Jonah Pezet.

Heres some actions he helped run against Brooks and Kepaoa.

Theres a fair bit of miscommunication between the Tigers half and his left edge forward, causing some rather easy post contact metres.

if Brisbane do this with Haas during his first half stint this game could be over after 40 minutes.

Haas moving wider into a retreating defence with support and his willingness now to unlock the ball carrying harm to pass is lethal.

Recce has already worked this out.

Love your post as always but the issue is, can you trust a halfback acquisition from Melbourne?

Lol poor West Tigers fans have no hope for their team or this match.

He clearly should have just drawn and passed.
Hammer is even facing the direction he wants to go, which means if he passes to Ezra he's got the head start... and if Hammer catches him Arey is on his outside or Jesse keeps running through (is either tackled by Hammer at which point Ezra is untouched, or left alone and can continue supporting)

Walsh is then also there who is only behind the play to begin with, because he passed it to Jesse... he would catch up to the play quite quickly.

It was a bombed try any way you look at it... and the game would've been far more comfortable if he passes it, because we had only just scored the Cobbo try, which was soft... and Walsh was starting to make inroads from dummy half runs leading up to this break.

We won the linebreaks 6-2 so we left a lot of point out there.

And here I thought we were dramatic in 2020. That's the definition of defeat, that forum

I reckon Tigers are gonna go hard this match. I've seen periods of good footy from them and if they are gonna stretch it out to a full match worth, it will be against us. And I think Doueihi at fullback actually adds balance to their team... as stupid as it looks.

Sure ...
Explain the Capewell try for me coach ? LOL .

3 times denied .
One try Herbies off load knocked away . One try the Nichols strip . one try the Herbie pass into Walsh`s shin .

Holy shit that's a depressing site.

A question for locals and regular match goers. What would be the best way to get too and from the game on Saturday night. Staying on George street near the Victoria bridge. Have a 4 year old with us so not sure of best option.

if it were me, I’d probably leave early, walk across Victoria Bridge, go get some food / ice cream or whatever and walk thru South Bank before walking back across Grey Street Bridge and up to Caxton. Probs 45mins of walking, but beautiful to see Brisbane by night. Good place for a half time snack, and no cars to contend with until the last bit. There will be broncos supporters everywhere as you get closer to Caxton, which would be fun.

alternatively busses are free on game day so can hop on translink and figure out which bus is best.

don’t drive or catch train (doesn’t make sense from where you’re staying)

Do you know which gate or end of the stadium you're at??

All public transport is free on game day and the busses are located across the bridge... so I'd say that's your best bet. The South Brisbane Train Station is only 100m or so further if the train works better as well.

I usually train it to Roma St Station and then walk to stadium via Caxton St... Milton Station is better if you're at the other end of the stadium though and I think that's where the busses drop you off... the free game day ones from Roma St and in the City dropped me off there once anyway.

Yep walk down George St to Roma St railway station and follow the crowd.
