When he was 50 he was the only person with Favill to score 150+50 on debut in 1951.

What an embarrassing way to start the season for the Bulls. To get rolled for 103 in the 2nd dig but only manage to take 4 wickets for the match is just pathetic. Our bowling is very bad. Having Hopes in the side as a bowler is ordinary and Steketee and Boyce were disappointments. Utterly pathetic batting display in the 2nd dig. The Vics do have a quality bowling line up and did have timely declaration but there is no excuse. A weak display that the players must take responsibility for. Selectors got it wrong by not picking Stanklake as well IMO.

Travis Dean could be an exciting prospect. Fair effort to hit doubt tons on debut.

Looks like a tough year ahead for the Bulls. I can't see many wins coming with the bowling line up they've got.
