Just to put things in perspective, Mitchell Starc is far and away our best bowler right now and he's less than a year older than Hazlewood and only has like 10 more tests played, that's 2 series, you're completely wrong about this whole "rookie" thing, whether you'll admit it or not.
If this was Hazlewood's 2nd test series or his first series abroad I'd agree with you, but he's been around long enough and played against enough international opponents that he's well out of the "Rookie" spectrum, for mine.
What does Starc have to do with it? I have already said we are going into this summer with possibly our most inexperienced opening two bowlers ever.
You're arguing the opposite about their wealth of experience.
Does it mean they won't do well- of course not. They're both good bowlers but being good doesn't give your experience and 20 Tests is not a lot anymore. Pretty simple.
South Africa have the same potential problem with their batting of their top six Cook, Bavuma and de Kock have 11 or fewer Tests- now you would argue that is Tests a plenty and a lot of experience in the middle.
But i think it puts pressure on Amla and Faf.
But to make up for it they have one of the most experienced and lethal fast bowling side to come here in a while.
