He’s 29 for **** sake. He could play another 5 years and is a proven rep level beast. Su’A is an exciting prospect but I’d pack his bags for him if it meant we kept Gillo.

I'm a massive Gillet fan, but the fact is he will probably start slowing up in the next year or two, the guys played hard his whole career at club, state and international level, that's got to have some sort of affect on the body. At what point do we look towards the future and will there be another Su'A available when Gillet does slow up. No way in hell would I want to drop him but with his neck injury and wear and tear in mind when does the future of the club come into account?

If you read wolfie's post he mentions gillo's injury and his concerns if he can recover from it. I too have concerns about it, no one has said to get rid of him. I think a backrow of Gillett and sua would be great .

Fafita needs to play against men before an opinion can be made. Sua has proved he has a bright future, at least a solid player with a good hit. And he is only 20 !

Sua is great, but I'm still not so sure we can go giving him a starting spot just yet just to hold onto him. If he is in the 17 every week even if it's coming off the bench to give gillon or Glenn a break it's still going to help him develop. Had a decent chat to him after the game and he comes across as a well grounded young fella. Big issue is I dont see how we can keep putting up huge money for players who are just potential right now even if its huge potential. We have a decent amount of money already tied up in fafita and Haas and they have some nothing yet. It's not just the likes of Milf, Bird and Boyd putting strain on our cap.

If we lose both Oates and Sua the last one out the door should get a new manager. They both seem to want to stay in Brisbane as its their home town &o the only club they know, but if we lose Sua Oates will have more opportunity at 2nd row anyway (we'd keep our word more then any Sydney clubs, eg Hoffman and many others), and if Oates leaves Sua will have a lot more money available to him here so the obstacles that are stopping them from staying here are pretty much gone...

Totally agree with that. The moment the broncos start giving in to players holding it to ransom without having the runs on the board is the moment we become the titans....

I don't look at current form too much. I think Milford has a higher ceiling than any other Qld half.

That said, there is a lot of quality to chose from for our 1/6/7 in the future, between Munster, Morgan, Milford, Hunt, Taylor and Ponga, we're kind of spoiled.

We do need a hooker to match that though, as we really only have Macca and Friend to hold the fort...

For me a lot of good five eights (half ready/half not) and one halfback who would be competing with Maloney for worst defender on ground.

Would prefer Morgan at 7 (not thrilled given recent form but not Hunt or DCE), Munster and Hunt on bench. I see Hunt as next hooker if Smith retires given full time 9 options are so poor. Appreciate isnt a full time hooker or an 80 minute one but Friend is on downhill for years now, Macca would try his heart out and be safe but service is too slow our forwards would be hammered behind him. Maybe Granville?

When Milf sorts himself out see Munster at centre next year as Inglis possibly final year or fullback with slater retiring. Maybe Ponga at 1 in a year or two. Bit green and want to see his form be maintained. A lot of time to wait though so who knows what might happen.

Like what Taylor could bring but don’t see him in origin in near future unless he really improves. Needs to go see Andrew Johns as much as hate to say it to toughen defence and mature his attack. At a good club could be ready in a year or two but at GC who knows.

Just hire the Roosters accountant and we’re already a couple of million under.

Can’t promise anyone a starting spot period. Players need to be told will pick best man for job on the day. But if he continues to earn it Gillo/Sua/TPJ (+/- Bird) would be best backrow combination. Glenn to bench or club that will pay him a nice retirement bonus.

After 9 weeks Milford already has a better kicking game then hunt. For 2 years we waited for hunt to shake off his post grand final blues, remember, that big game that milf stepped up in and hunt went MIA in? Hunt has the benefit of the most in form forward pack in the comp in front of him and Widdop beside him. He's still drifting in and out of games and has a terrible kicking game. I'm actually happy for hunt to be getting the media attention and praise he has deserved for years, but he is doing nothing more then what he was for us it's just that his teams in form at the moment.

If Munster doesn't turn up in origin 1 I sure hope we aren't expecting hunt to be a big moments player all of a sudden for Queensland just because the Sydney media have fallen in love with him because he doesn't play for us now....

I am gobsmacked to see the level Hunt is being elevated by NSW media. He's doing the same shit that he did when he was at the Broncos. How it seems so brilliant to them now is a wonder.

He dropped a premiership for us & he is cursed to win another for the rest of his $6M career.

The decline in defence is helping him too. He averaged 25 tackles a game last year- 538 over 21 games. At the Dragons he's made 156 over 9 games.

That's eight less a game, that's massive.

He's fresh to attack and he's also fitter than before as well. He's doing things faster.
