Tbh the entire situation is super sad. There is no doubt in my mind that Spencer used a term that he would like to take back.. his comments post game prove that. He wishes Mam never made a formal complaint about it.

I worry for Ezra and his confidence. You have enough on your plate as a young footy player and the racial comments on his Instagram must make him feel awful.

there aren’t actually that many big name indigenous players at the moment. Latrell is the cultural leader within the game now. I too have gained respect for him for being first to stand up for Ezra.

These are the ones that come to mind - Mitchell, Mam, Staggs, Walker, Hynes, Cobbo, Addo-Carr, Gagai, Campbell

Even without the audio I can’t see him getting off. If he had denied it I could see him getting off but it’s too late now. The case will now come down to what is credible so to get out of this he will need to convince them of the following.

- That he did not call him a monkey yet the multiple times it was put to him that he did he did not deny it and instead said it was just banter. He would have to convince them that he reacted to a false accusation in a manner contradictory to pretty much anyone in the world would.

- That he did not say it yet when they came together in the hotel his focus was on why didn’t you leave it on the field rather than I didn’t call you that and you are a liar. Once again the judiciary would have to believe Spencer would behave contrary to how a reasonable person would behave.

- That he didn’t call him a monkey yet his brother posted several things on social media with monkey emojis and other monkey references.

- That Ezra Mam flat out lied and has stood by that lie despite all the attacks and scrutiny.

- That the other witnesses that heard it are also lying.

- That all this is being done to Spencer when he didn’t say it when there is no history or motivation there to justify it

- To overcome the fact that Mam and other Broncos were saying that he called him a monkey simultaneously they would have to believe that prior to the game several Broncos players got to together and planned to level a claim of racism at Spencer for some unexplained reason.

- That despite this apparently well thought out plan to level a false racism claim they chose to level it at one of the few players of colour in the Roosters team.

From what I can recall, they didn't have any concrete evidence that Walsh used abusive language towards the ref last year but they still found him guilty.

Reece had "expert witness " Dave Fifita testify on his behalf .

Teddy tried to deny shouting out racist abuse on the streets .
It was only when other witnesses stepped up he had to admit his wrong . Then they make him captain of the national team . NRL / ARL done fcked up there .
