POST GAME [Round 1, 2024] Broncos vs Roosters

Agreed.

It wouldn't have been hard for Robinson during the presser to say something sincere. Hes only helped to amp up the pressure.

Lote Tuquiri called it Gas Lighting .
Robinson didn`t deny some thing was said , just started the Harbajan defence ie he heard some thing , but not what he thinks he heard .
Now Teddy will play the role of Sachin Tendulkar and back his team mate by saying he told Ezra he was funky .

That Arthur Beetson link though...

Regardless of whether they have any indigenous players or not though, they should have at least mentioned something about not condoning racism.

12 months ago, when Latrell was abused, Robinson was thoughtful and considerate in his response. He showed no care towards Mam on the weekend. He could have said the whole due process thing but said we are upset that Mam is upset.

When asked if he could believe it was still happening in 2023, Robinson said, “yeah I can because that is where we are still at as a country.”

“It’s pretty standard. Some are casual racists and some are overt, like it was last night and that’s still where we are at.”
“We have to stamp it out,” Robinson said

“It’s not about teams and who someone plays for, this is a deeper issue and it’s unacceptable.”

“This isn’t the first time that this has happened with Latrell and he understands that it’s a part of his life and he’ll use it and respond in his way and the right way,” Robinson said.

He said, 'Bro, I love your hair, it's funky. It makes you look all spunky. I wish I looked like you, but I'm too chunky. Did you hear the noise when I smacked Riki in the face, it was all thunky.'

There ya go !
Just a bit of banter . I think back to Andrew Symonds .

Clearly Robinson is happy to be push his morality to get the pats on the back when it doesn't impact his own players, harder to stand up when it will have direct consequences for you. Very brave.

Everyone here can see that all insults are bad but in the context of Ezra, an indigenous person being called a monkey it isn't relevant. If you and McHunt want to start an 'all insults are bad' or 'should all insults and taunting be banned in sport' thread go for gold, but to use it as a way to dilute the impact of what was said to Mam is disgusting. I realise 'whataboutism' is a pretty common defense tactic especially when it comes to racism but people aren't failing to see your point, they just refuse to engage with it because it isn't relevant to the racial slur said to Ezra.
"but to use it as a way to dilute the impact of what was said to Mam is disgusting"

I agree 100%, but just to be sure, I didn't do that, did I? If I did let me know where so I can explain it, because it certainly wasn't my intent :)

My boss just called me a "silly sausage". Given that 'all insults are equal' I'd like to take this opportunity to tell you all that I am in bits. Please keep me in your thoughts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This convo can't be real?
"all insults are equal"

Has anyone actually said that?

Look at the facts though, it isn't the whole forum, it is two blokes who can't help themselves but be contrarian. The forum as a whole is behind our little number 6.
I think the whole forum is behind Mam, I really don't think anyone here is saying what Leniu said is OK

Just listened through a few of the podcast today. On the James Graham one it was said a Rooster player approached Ezra and apologised for what had happened. This is all of course allegedly and it would have not been sanctioned by the club. However it does speak volumes on the whole "if it happened" narrative, that at least on a personal level a player felt he needed to apologise to Ezra. Mason on Levels said he would not be surprised if he gets six months. Levels in a way tried to touch on how Spencer is a product of his environment (Western Sydney). Bloke in a Bar just brushed over it, was a bit disappointed in Kemp.

I was not surprised Kemp brushed over it, I only occasionally listen these days. All they want to say is every player is exceptional and hot as ****, I knew they wouldn't comment because they would want to have Spencer on the show one day so they aren't going to say anything against him.

On the front page of the courier mail, I can read it says one of our players has said he won't hesitate to go to the tribunal as a witness for Ezra. Anyone know who that is?

Leniu has basically incriminated himself with his responses, he knew what he was being accused of saying, it was only after Lawyers got involved that he avoided saying anything when he got back to Aus.

If there is no hard evidence like Audio or atleast video to go by though this will be a huge dilemma for the NRL.

I’m pretty sure Kemp said he will have ‘plenty’ to say but will wait till after the outcome of the judiciary. Far enough.
