Bit worried about not having anyone to give Turpin a break. Hopefully he can become an 80 min player.
Asiata and Te'o can cover dummy half.

I'm calling BS on all that from Yobbo.

His manager can sniff around all he wants and try and use his demotion as leverage, but the plan has always been that he develop in ISC before coming into first grade.

Just because Seibold is a fucking derp that crumbled to media pressure doesnt mean he has no more development in him.

He's played 6 ISC games in 2 years.

I think Dearden would be happy to play ISC as long as he's paid accordingly.

If he gets a 2-3yr contract on $400k-$500k then he's secured and able to develop with reduced stress.

The pressure then goes back onto Milf and Croft as to who wants the long term half role beside him, which I think has been the question since Croft signed last year

The media are simply using the situation to create hysteria for clicks.
- "Dearden will walk because of demotion"
- Leads into "Former Broncos legend claims youngsters are entitled brats and need to earn their place"
- Leads into "Kevvie responds to legends claim of entitlement "
- Leads into "Kevvie laughs off suggestions of entitlement"

And so on and so forth

I'm sure behind the scenes Kevvie is letting him know that he wants him down in ISC to develop away from the spot light and reduced pressure of ISC.

And then the next best thing Kevvie could do is to head down to the Souths Logan games to watch Dearden personally... and make sure he's seen doing it. Of course that leads to "Kevvie spotted at Souths game to watch next Alfie, intensifying pressure on Croft to hold his position".... but **** the media!!

Kevvie just needs to make sure he's communicating with the players and then **** around with the media to put the pressure on himself and off the players.

Also dont put Dearden, Croft or Milf up for a media sessions, because you can anticipate the shit questions they'd receive... instead just chuck clowns in front of them and tell them to pass off the questions (hell make a game of it to see which player can backhand the questions the best)... put the assistant coaches in front of them... or better yet put no one in front of them.

Give them nothing and just keep laughing off all their garbage questions.

I dont see how we could possibly consider paying Dearden $400k or $500k a year. He hasnt shown anywhere near enough to warrant that kind of money yet and we cant keep paying overs to unproven kids. I do agree though he needs to develop in ISC.

Oates' last few seasons seems like a guy who is washed up, not just out of form

I agree. I'd be going no more than 300k.

Yeah, he's a fucking dildo. Like I said earlier, he's a one trick pony and that trick (staying on the left wing, catching the ball, running straight and scoring) is a really good one. Bennett told him the same but he wouldn't listen. Now, because he knows better, he's in reserve grade where he belongs until he gets back to his knitting.
He had serious defensive issues when he was scoring tries, but when your scoring substantially more then your letting in it's much easier to live with that and let it slide. Suddenly when your struggling to put those points on the scoreboard your left with the same player with the same serious defensive issues and opposition teams have become more and more aware of how easy it was to exploit them. I hope a serious stint in the lower grades will help but I have my doubts.

I have faith in Turps. I think Croft will have been given the duties of stirring Moses up, once Moses gets heated he all but implodes.

Weve got the parra pack covered except for Lodge on Paulo - If they fire......If....

Guessing Asiata will be used in that capacity???

Forward rotation will be interesting... I'd imagine we'd want Turps to finish the game, so 2 subs required for him.

Might just be a watch and see, and if Turps is fatiguing take him off, if he's going alright leave him on

Croft getting the first shot is probably sensible by Kevvie as he is the 'senior' of the two, Croft now needs to step up........................ he's not been so good under pressure tho.

Weird to not see Oates there but he truly has been poor.

No Asiata has no dummy half skills apart from passing... it’s cruel on a big bopper to have to bend over if anything unwanted happens it will probably means Niu or Croft goes to Hooker and either Glenn goes to centre’s or Asiata goes to half

Oates doesn’t deserve to be in that team just because of his presence or status the man is not an Nrl squad level second rower so why the **** should he be playing their or getting anywhere near the side in that position... the bloke needed to fix his issues on the wing over the off season and his career would have been back on track but no he had to play second row

Depends what other teams offer him... I also have no idea what he's currently on.

If it's only 2 years it's not a huge risk... just depends if he backs himself to increase that contract.

It's really hard for us at the moment, because putting a value on Dearden, Coates, Niu, Bullemor, etc. is hard given the loss of ISC last year.

In a perfect world those guys would've played ISC every week in their preferred positions against men to see how they perform and how their skills translate to a different quality of opponent before we have to offer them contracts.

With no ISC form to gauge them on you have to price based on potential and how they go in practice, which is fraught with danger... but reasonable contracts with low durations (1-2 years) may be a viable approach to get us through this shit period of mass free agents at lowish risk, and reassess at the end of next year

Absolutely, he played like he was just happy to cruise alone and never thought he would be dropped.
