POST GAME [Round 11, 2024] Broncos vs Sea Eagles

I agree - he threw a few rocket passes that I think the players weren't used to - but he looked comfortable and capable against decent enough opposition. DCE might be old, but he is still playing origin for a reason. They lacked Turbo, but he had the weapons they needed to put us away if we were deficient in defense and he held his own. He and Patty caused a drop ball during a tackle twice from memory.

Would be keen to give him another week to just see if he can find his feet a little more.
Look at Jock...these kids need games but I trust Kev brings them on at the right time. Trust the process. Mozer would, and should, have been proud of his efforts tonight. The couple of errors he forced in D the boys got round him. In the sheds he would have been stoked. Don't under estimate that acceptance from such a tight group. His first game with the BIG boys.

if Phins and Rorters lose, we're top 4.

Hmm, in the end Darius looked like he was there for the paycheque. The baby gender reveal after spooning told me everything about his priorities. He was there to see out his contract, his body was shot and he should have retired 1-2 seasons earlier but for whatever reason was encouraged to stay and it destroyed his legacy.
I don't disagree but there was a lot going wrong back then.

**** i hate brandy constantly talking up cobbo at fullback saying hes a star fullback and you can not have 2 class fullbacks at your club. yet they dont say a peep aboute the roosters for the last 4 years about havein manu and tedesco in the side.

just crickets when its roosters
Are you joking?! The media ALWAYS talk about the Manu and Teddy FB conundrum. Always. Manu always goes beast mode when Teddy's out so the topic is 'does Teddy retire or move to let Manu excel'.

Some of the rumours from the media is that Manu is taking a sabbatical in Union until Teddy retires and then comes back.

I see your Todd Smith and raise you a Klein, a Badger, a Gee, two Suttons, a Butler and an Atkins.......... all scrambling to be the worst.
Gosh…. Why is everyone so harsh???
One Ddot Htims was the lucky punter who walked away with coin after Manly covered the 6.5 start. Nothing to see here.

Wait, he was a late minute scratching AND didnt show up to support the team. I'm not going to say it, but that makes me feel uneasy.
No, it’s not what you think @Skathen. I had the same theory, but he’s sweet.

That was slide 16 of 57 where he highlighted his plan to not lose by more than two scores all year….

Star wipe effect on the slides as well
@broncsgoat gets it… the rest of you wouldn’t, coz you didn’t go to Harvard or wherever the **** Pies claims he went 🙄

The most pleasing thing about last night was our ability to find a way to win a close one without Reynolds or Walsh out there. This team is maturing and it’s good for our future. We can’t always win big. Sometimes we’ve gotta win the right defensive games.

I don't get the negativity about mozers performance. I am actually not on the hype train with him as much as others but last night he impressed me. Why? It's because he just put his head down and did the work, did what's best for the team.

My worry with him is he has always tried to play to clever for his own good. An example was his only blemish from last night. He stepped out right, dummied and went back behind the ptb to left and passed... problem was, no one else was expecting that and the ball went to ground . Was hoping he'd run a bit more but it was obviously a directive from the coaches that he focuses on feeding the ball out. His defence and service was good, his passing was the best I've seen him do. Just hope he gets rid of that short floater he does that is slow, not a great pass to a forward running onto it because they slow down and it looks harder to catch, his spirals were much better.

I've seen them shit the bed on a field goal set when Adam's been there, so for Jock to organize them and slot one through speaks volumes.

Agree with all of those defending Mozer here. I enjoyed him. Really liked his deception at the ruck, the track was heavy last night but I feel like he would have caused quite a few headaches on a dry day/night. Aside from once where the the pass found the ground. I like a bit of creativity at hooker.

It’s highly embarrassing that anyone has to defend Mozer. It was his second game in the NRL last night. He defended well and didn’t make any howlers. We expect way too much of our players sometimes. Heck even Mam was called a plodder in this thread.

Great win. Can obviously get better but with our injury toll, we'll take the win where we can get them. Solid debut for Karapani. He got found out a few times in the last 15, but couldn't ask for much more from him being called up last minute.

Superstar performance from Cobbo at the back. I don't think he has the fitness to go all out for 80mins right now, but to be fair, neither does Walshy, but he just seems to get a random burst of energy whenever the ball.

I thought Madden looked solid. Mam looked like he was primed for a big one, then it looked like his leg injury flared up again and he just became a passenger. If he was healthy, there's no way Garrick gasses him down the sideline like that. Mam is arguably top 5 over 40m because his acceleration is ridiculous.

One major concern I have is Piakura's defence. He gets solid contact on north-south runners, but any hint of footwork and the bloke whiffs on his tackles. I hope he tightens up his defence

I have been saying since, 2019 he's a great tackler but not a great defender.

He missed 11 tackles in a Grand Final in 22. It's decision making that is his issues and sometimes lazy.
