PRE-GAME Round 11 - Broncos vs Storm

I thought the Milford experiment had already been tried, but anyway. Perhaps our defensive organisation might be better but somehow I doubt it. Whoever plays fullback though, I would be saying to stay out of the defensive line and to everyone else, the fullback is captain, king and god when it comes to your defence.
We need a more strategic outlook on defence than is currently happening. I want our fullback to be "Turpin" like in his effort and I just don't see that coming from Milford. The best thing about having a bird at the back was the force of his personality and leadership to make players listen, combined with the will to be involved. Darius has some of that, but is just not physically capable.
Milford has the ability to make plays but doesn't have the ability to influence others, which is mighty disappointing. I would have persisted with Niu. It might sound strange, given our poor performances but we must have picked him for a reason. I don't believe he is the reason we are losing and whilst a strong personality at the back would be good, we just don't have it. Maybe Milford will prove me wrong and set about organizing our line and running sweep plays the way Darius did. Maybe he will become the jackrabbit that runs off our forwards when they offload. The thing is, he has done bugger-all of that as 5/8th, closer to the ruck. Why would he be any better, given a licence to sit back and "wait for his time". I hope I'm wrong.

Blame the board. I’ve heard that Boyd and Milford are untouchable. Seibold wants to drop them but told not allowed to by upper management. Apparently that’s one of the reason the players are split.

Niu injured, surgery awaits. Issako's father has passed away, also in doubt.
I wish I waited a little longer to post now. I guess Milford to the back is the best of a bunch of bad choices. God help us.

Further clarity on the Niu injury:

Broncos fullback Tesi Niu injured his wrist during last Friday night’s game against the Wests Tigers in Sydney.

An MRI scan at the Clive Berghofer Centre Qscan facility revealed cartilage damage to Niu’s wrist. “Tesi will visit a specialist in the coming days for further advice with surgery a very likely option,” said Broncos Head of Performance Paul Devlin.

“Tesi will obviously be unavailable for selection as a result of this injury with more to be known once his appointment with the specialist has been completed.”

What kind of club carries on like this ffs.

Just boot the *****.

Further clarity on the Niu injury:

Is there an MRI/X-ray machine at the Clive berghofer centre?
FMD we sure have all the resources.
Too bad we can’t put together a decent football team.

Boyd should’ve gone off his fucking brain at Isaako there, he probably should’ve tried a bit more but Isaako. FMD.

THIS is why I am so against Boyd. It is absolutely central to my belief that Boyd is really undermining the team by his inaction, his total disregard, his couldn't give a shit attitude when he is our most senior player, one of the best FB's when in his prime, and why he was signed, to contribute both individual skill AND leadership experience and guidance to our young brigade.

2nd best defensive centre. What an utter irrelevance. If we were not down on troops, he should be sacked for his boring, blase lack of interest. Loves the club? Bullshit. Words are cheap. Put up or shut up.

Deadset, this side gets the weirdest and widest array of long-term injuries doesn't it!

Milf is not a fullback.

Instead of just falling on his sword and dropping that flog Croft pies moves our best half to fullback. What a fucking drop kick
If Tesi is injured I understand the move

That doesn't make much sense - the board claim Pies needs years to undo the damage Bennett wrought upon us by signing players like Boyd and Milf, but they also won't let our very own one win wonder drop those same players? We stumped up a million a year for five performance-clause-free seasons for a brilliant young coach who just can't quite to be trusted to pick a team? Sounds like more excuses from the fat man.

How many are you are confident we can score a try in this one.

I think if we turn the arse factor up to 11 pangai or staggs might be able to jag one.

Titans actually played decently in the first 30 minutes or so against them and their only points came through a dodgy decision where Kelly pushed a storm player in the back which bizarrely the bunker didn't care about.

Because you're allowed to do that. Once the opposition player has touched the ball and is trying to regather it.
