Nope. It'll be Madden. No use signing up depth players if you don't use them when depth is required. He's definitely no ARey but he'll perform better this time around.

This time he would atleast be the 7, I hope he will take more control than he did in the trials which looked a bit problematic on last kick options as it felt like Mam did most of the kicking when he shouldn't be.

I suspect Reynolds will still be on the team list because they will probably give him to game day or just to keep people guessing but I don't think he will play.

Yeah good Point. I think gamble would have been a bit of a nightmare to manage from the clubs perspective aswell

because Gamble didn't want to play back up. so we essentially chose Mam over Gamble.

I doubt Gamble was expecting the Knights to move Ponga to 6, then go out and sign Hastings.

besides I wouldn't be throwing Madden on the scrap heap after one poor performance.

Gamble had that really good game for us in that first full game he played in 21 though, he also had being toiling it lower grade for quite a bit longer which probably helped him.

Madden also has the luxury of a much better team around him on his debut.

No we don't. We need him for origin and the back end of the year. This game really is inconsequential at this point in the season. You don't take risks with heads / necks. This is a great time to find out what we can do against the best without him.

For mine, it wasn't physical fatigue or burnout that caused the slide last year. It was a mental issue. If we lose to the Panthers then it may well end up a case of "here we go again" and the same mentality creeps in. If sliding from a top 4 spot to outside the 8 is a heartbreak, how about sliding from first place?

On a game by game basis to date I think we have shown a considerable improvement in mental strength. This was highlighted in the Storm game after losing Reynolds and copping the binnings. Time will tell, but I don’t think we crumble like we have been.

Being bashed by 2 contenders while bullying some of the also ran’s had me feeling this week was really important in terms of the teams standing when we come out of the origin period.
