Lol at the people that blame Oates solely for the loss.

He made some poor choices, but Carrigan fluffed enough passes on his own, Karpani still very new, Walters had a shocker relatively and the usual we tried scoring on every play. Reynolds cant come back soon enough.

Madden had a good game, was always backing up so if anything thats good.
Walter’s isn’t asking many questions around the ruck this year, last season he was engaging markers and we were getting a real roll on with haas & patty driving up the middle off the back of it, this year there’s just been a lot of shuffling the ball on. We need more variety, and I think smoothy has been better at it this year.

I feel you mate, I do. I'm holding out hope Kevin is doing his best, and that injuries have fucked with us way more than us punters know. That and the big stint before a bye, I think we've been limping to the rest stop for a month, and tripped today.
The "good" news is, if our guys have played their way out of a qld jersey, then less disruptions for our team, we've had enough already!!
Exactly this. Injuries have been the decider this year. It's quite obvious haas and Walsh were underdone tonight.

Worst defence since the Siebold days. No way Cobbo should have been switched. All it did was weaken both side in defence.

On Corey Oates, plain to see he doesn't have the speed any more. To be fair though, he had to prepare as a second rower for a good chunk of the season. I think if Arthars plays we would have won that game.
No. The siebold days were far far worse.

Kevie has his work cut for him this year. This is test for his coaching abilities. We've got the talent, but that's about it.

We couldn't handle the titans speed in defence or attack. We kept getting turned around, inside out, and looking stupid. We can score points, but a lot of soft tries put on us. 2023 Broncos are no more.

A number of teams are getting it together. Broncos definitely not one of them. If anything, we are going backwards each game we play. I shudder to think what we'll be by round 20.
This is not what happened. We never got turned inside out. We dropped the ball, gave away possession and field position and they capitalised on each opportunity. If anyone did the turning inside and outside it was the broncos, they just couldn't help but hand the ball over

In my view, we could’ve resisted with getting Billy & Walsh to this game. We could’ve stuck with Mozer & Cobbo like last week. That way, those injured would have got some time to heal properly.
Wonder what niggles Walsh might’ve picked up today. Billy too would’ve benefited from 3 week break.

Kev should plan smartly.

look, silver lining
I don’t think there were any injuries

If there's no injuries then Walsh needs to have a long hard look at himself tonight because he was constantly standing well behind the play twiddling his thumbs in the second half.

Titans had 56% possession, 57% territory and 2000 running mtrs. They should've won by 20. Only one team showed up today.
I'd agree with you (on the by 20) if it wasn't for the fact we had both second rowers at centre and a 20yo (who was in cup to work on defence) and hooker at half. Your fast outside backs were always going to expose that all game. Hence why I gave us no chance but apparently not.

Plus Billy stayed on for way too long.

I put that entire performance down to poor coaching.

Cobbo touched the ball 7 times in 80 mins. We lost him in attack and defence. Both edges were weakened. We don’t attack right anywhere near as much as the left side.

Mam already struggles defending on that left side. I love Karapani in attack but his defence aint first grade ready yet. Doesn’t help that he’s got Oates, Piakura and Mam there too.

Bench rotation was terrible today too.

There was a recent change in wrestling coach lately, and to me it seems like we're losing the metre war every game.
Let's not read to far into this. We dropped the ball and gave away penalties. Its an easy fix really

Have we ever bothered with a serious wrestling coach though... Bennett was against it when it came into vogue and it feels like we've never been good at slowing the ruck down through the middle.

We've looked our best defensively when we go out there with linespeed and just hit blokes... **** the wrestling just hurt them and get them to ground.

To me it raises a big question over Walters as coach. Do Melbourne, Roosters or Penrith fans look at the Titans in their draw and wonder if their team will bother to show up?

4 years of his tenure and we are still a team of talented players who decide when they feel like playing committed. Half of the bombed tries look like players wanting to look cool on Tik Tok. Our goal line defense is appalling.

This is something that I’m frustrated about. How come every game we play, the opponents have more possession of the ball & play mostly in our territory is beyond me.

Even the games we won, we won with less possession & territory.

We didn’t play our full squad & mostly, we didn’t play like an 80min team thus far.

That fuckin Vegas trip has dampened our plans so much so that Kev has to go to his drawing board week in week out.

Our D needs a revamp & layers MUST wrap the ball and stop 2nd phase play. If this D of us is coincided with McGuire being on board, then bid farewell to him right away. This D will not be tolerated.
