Round 12 - Broncos vs Manly - Pre-Match Discussion

I would start Hodges off the bench . I thought he looked sound in origin. We really need him to have any chance. Manly have such an ace back line they are bound to score at least 3 or 4 tries. Where will ours come from without Hodges? Our only really consistent line breakers are Hodges and Hunt. We. Will need more then just Hunt. We should be able to grind out at least a competitive game, but if. Manly get into top gear, it could get horrible,especially if Lyon is on for a game.

We also have Barba. I hope he comes good. He and Hunt on fire can terrorize Manly, especially if our forwards run good lines on the edges.

Oh well, we can live in hope ...

without watmough their go forward will be poor and we should beat them in the middle. if hunt keeps up his kicking game especially minus dce i think we should be able to win the field position battle. Hodges was the best centre last night (nsw's centre did NOTHING in attack and inglis had one good run when he was put in space). he was very strong in the second half. if he backs up I think we win otherwise we need to be great defensively and barba to fire and we may just scrape in.

That's a bit harsh on Reed.

I would say Prince, Hodges, Gillett and Maranta cost us also with their poor defense which Manly took full advantage of.

Any play friend at 9....no thanks. Thats weakening our best position to fill another. If we need a halfback then pick a half back. If Cherry Evans is out which i dobut he will be then pick Hunt. The guy has played 100 first grade games. He is the best half in the comp this year. Also he will be playing right side which is with Gillet and Hodges who he plays with at club level. That combo will be huge in the eyes of the selectors IMO.

I completely agree with this.

It's Manly, so about 30k.

Broncos are expecting a 35k crowd based on ticket sales, but this season several thousand have bought tickets and not turned up so we could be looking at 30k.

They need to have the Dragons game on a Sunday afternoon. That kind of game always pulls big crowds.

That's the wonderful thing about Channel 9 having the rights and the say. They get to decide it all. They don't want us playing anywhere but a Friday night. And because we are screaming for Sunday arvo games they give us one. One fucking game. And they think of whatever team has the worst record for fans giving a **** in terms of watching games live when they're not at home. Manly. So they fucking sabotage us, then say "you only got 30k to the game anyway, same as a Friday night, so from now on you just get nothing but fucking Friday night".
