Round 12 - Broncos vs Manly - Pre-Match Discussion

Someone posted elsewhere that Ben Barba is still playing with an injured ankle.

If that's true, it is so fucking dumb it's unbelievable, and all criticism of his performances is therefore unwarranted.

He certainly has and has been showing the speed his bro has been lacking.

Have only seen him on the game on TV last Sunday but I thought he was awesome. Plenty of speed and could convert an opportunity into points. If that performance was indicative of his ISC form for the year he definitely deserves a crack in first grade.

So, it sounds like Watmough and DCE may be out for this game?

Yeah DCE had to be helped into the dressing room, didn't look good at all.

You'd have to say Watmough for sure if he has a torn bicep (as reported). Apparently Cherry-Evans injured his hip or something?
Yep, Fox say that DCE out this weekend and is even in doubt for SOO 2.

You would go with Hunt. JT can take the reigns and Hunt can chime in with his blindside plays. Plus, you lose nothing defensively with Hunt, he is a great defender.

Apologies for you God freaks out there, but I hope to CHRIST they don't put Hunt in Origin. It could do to him what it did to Pearce.

I hope they don't end up playing smith at 7 and friend at 9!!

If cherry Evans is out of soo2 then you have to go with the guy in form who plays that position at club level. That to me is means Hunt or Sandow. Their the only two left. I know which one is rather see play!

Hunt being selected for Origin could be a good thing for us.

Best case scenario. ..

One of our Kids gets selected to replace Hunt in the Broncos team due to necessity.

That kid shines. And takes Hoffmans place at 6

Hoffman moves to wing

DCE out this Sunday makes this game much more winnable. Really keen to see how we go. Manly will still be tough to beat but I believe we can beat them now they don't have DCE.

Memory is a little foggy now, but he was hurt in the dying stages wasn't he?

The way I remember it, Kodi was more involved but it seemed like he took a quantity > quality approach and it really exposed how raw he was with the football and his defence was horrific. Kahu on the other hand was coming up with a couple of big plays including a money ball to Vidot which was probably the best pass any Broncos player produced that night.

I haven't seen much vision of JK since and reports haven't been positive. Will be interesting, but I think members are talking him up more since he's the most likely replacement for Hoffman and fans are eager to make that change.

Personally, I'd rather see JK move into the centres and have Hodges move to five eigth (Copley right centre, Hoffman wing) but that is neither here nor there.

He's been playing left wing for Wynnum, scored a good try on the weekend with great hands, hard now to go from the wing every week to 6 at NRL.
