Round 14 - Broncos vs. Tigers - Pre Match Discussion`

If we don't beat the tigers at home then we well and truly deserve the spoon.

Hook seems more concerned with completion rates than scoreboards.

Playing high completion is fine if you have point scorers but we don't. We have a good forward pack and the odd handy player. I don't believe we play to that advantage and it seems like we play to a formula that expired 2 years ago.

That's definitely a fair slight on Hook.

When the broncos name their best team of the last 50 years it'll be the same team as the best of the last 25 years

Which organizer out there yells at players, calls the plays, positions supports, points to where he wants his runners set, and his runners automatically move into position anyway?

Seriously, headless chooks

Every game is important, more so then important, its just a really good game for us to or challenge for us to get our teeth into, you know we've got a few of our origin boys back and we've been in good form in the last 8 weeks and coming into the bye, it will be just a good one to throw everything into. They've done remarkably well in the last 2 months of footy, turned a lot of things around so it's a really good opportunity I suppose to put a explanation mark on that, have our bye and get ourselves ready for the run home.

This will probably be an extremely boring match, where we'll barely walk away with the victory, and Griffin et al. will tell us how we've turned over a new leaf and are going to build on the win blah blah blah... then everything will go back to normal (losing) when we visit the Warriors and Storm.

If we ever needed something to go our way it's now and with Farah out we're a big chance. Farah is the Tigers best player with daylight being second. That's not to say we'll win easy but rather if we don't play like shit we have a chance of winning.

Not only do we need to win this one but we need to smash them by 40 to get our points differential out of the red. If we are any chance of making the 8 this year we'll at least need a healthy +/-. Sigh, I can't believe we're at the halfway mark of the season already.

Surely as professional footy players they get sick of losing, and not just because they're paid to express that attitude to the public.

We should be called the Brisbane fluffers. All the shit teams use us as a warm up to then get fucked the next week by the real deal next week.

TL;DR We're like broken down porn stars with no shame

Broncs should merge with nth qld with the way things are going.

Attitude
Enthusiasm
Communication

.... is what i wanna see.

Pride !!!

I'd like to see Hook get Granville in this side. Off the bench providing impact and fast runs out of dummy half. We need his potential to make things happen. I'd also like to see Prince get the 7 and take control of the side. He looks better when he takes control. He can take on majority of the kicking and guide the team around.

yes give prince control. He is much more creative but let Wallace retain kicking duties with Norman. Wallace just had an off night (cronk in origin) prince has kicked the same all year

I agree : re Prince being allowed to run the side.

He just seems a better option the Wallace to me.

i'm definitely not a doomsayer but being realistic- i just do not see us making the 8. an article last night said that the likely cutoff is 28 pts (has been the last three years, so a good indicator). to do that we'd need to win 7 of our last 11 games and that includes 5 games v current top 8 sides plus a trip to nz in a couple of weeks.

basically - we'd have to play the best footy we have all year to win 7 of 11 and IF we were capable of that then we'd be just as capable of winning hte comp outright.

but i just cant see it happening. 4 or 5 wins at best for us. i will always hope for the best though, and keep supporting the team. i just want them to go out there and give it a red hot go each game, for more than 20 mins at a time.

Wallace has led and organized this side once or twice in 3 years. He is a failure at that. Prince is the logical choice.

And ntheory, we are capable - we have shown it, but we lack any consistency and we don't really play constructive football except in their red zone.

Someone needs to lead this side and make that leadership very obvious on field: call the plays, get your runners into position, get the defensive line moving up fast as one line etc etc.

Yawn ... just the basics

well thats just the thing. i dont think we can turn it around enough to manage 7 out of 11 wins from what i've seen this season.

i'd love to eat my words. i know teams can turn it around in a short period of time...
