Round 14 - Broncos vs. Tigers - Pre Match Discussion`

Last night proved there are too many passengers out there that aren't being honest in their performance. The fact that they came out in the second half and showed some effort and intensity in their running demonstrates they are capable, but for whatever reason they don't want to work for more than a 10min spell.

For me that is leadership and accountability, there was a set where we were struggling to get out of our own end and I watched Thaiday for 5 tackles standing behind the play with his hands on his hips, a captains play would have been to take the tough hit up and inspire some leadership. There is a leadership void in that squad atm and it's preventing them from being honest with themselves, and i don't mean the empty rhetoric they think fans want to hear, they should be telling it to themselves and each other, not us!

The attitude stinks and because of injuries and the loss of someone like teo on the bench, the fear of losing your spot isn't there, so either is the motivation to do the extras or the accountability for failing to. The fact that they were able to run harder and with more intensity and purpose for 10mins is what makes me mad because if they can do it for 10 they can do it for 80, it's an indictment of laziness.

I will lose all hope for the rest of the season if we don't beat the Tigers.

We should all read FaithinHook's posts - they are priceless

Tigers by 36.

Don't be too excited about the team named today. It won't be the final team. My guess is they'll name the same 17 + Hannant.

Thanks for the heads-up Coxy. Looks like Hook is going to keep us guessing this week as to the final make-up of ths side

Someone has to get him to talk on field first

That is a big problem. Nobody owns the team so nobody speaks up. Thaiday has been a poor skipper and his form has been dreadful since getting the job. He used to be such a good backrower. It really is sad what has happened to our talented players.

This is the single most unnerving thing for me. We do have the talent (I'll go sit in Hook's corner renegade ), but it's almost like it's being bashed out of the players... :001_unsure:

haha.. I never said we have no talent... just that we don't currently to win the premiership. Some pieces are there, some pieces may need to be acquired.

If you're going to sit in his corner, can you do what the majority of us want to do and tell him to formulate a fucking gameplan suitable for these drones.

I sincerely cannot imagine the Broncos leadership doesn't know this. I mean, Hook can be many things, but he's not stupid or blind FFS.

The other part, is that I cannot honestly pinpoint where to start. I actually believe that all this one out stuff is Hook trying to get the basics right, and we're not doing that too bad.

The biggest issue is our defence has gone to shit, the confidence is at an all time low, as soon as something goes the opposition's way, the players seem to drop their heads and think "oh shit, here we go again", and also as I said before, we can't seem to take a trick either.

The optimist in me, still believes we can turn this around. This team can play awesome footy, when focused and confident. But **** if I know how to get them back there... :001_unsure:

They were puppies born into a purebred pack with old dogs the likes of Webcke, Thorn, Tallis, Civoneciva to smack their noses when they shat on the carpet.

Now they've got a mongrel old RSPCA bitsa (Wallace) and a 17 decripid year old Jack Russell (Prince) instead of a purebred Lassie (Lockyer)

Not sure about that either. I've seen Wallace blow up a few times, and Prince is starting to talk a fair bit too...

But maybe they're just numb to everything at the moment, maybe they are confused as to what to follow, maybe Thaiday needs to get a rocket before he can dish out one himself. It's all sometimes so rudderless...

The side has been named. basically the same as last night. no hannant listed.

Can often be expected from a travelling Monday team to just submit the same 17 again for Tuesdays team lists.

expecting hannant to play. hopefully a couple of other tweaks.

It's definitely possible to at least finish strongly and slip into the 8, but considering the quality of the other teams competing for it, it would need to be some turn around. But it's definitely possible, the Eels did it in 09 and even made the Grand Final. Their key was a godly Jarryd Hayne and playing with 0 structure, just offloading and passing whenever they felt like it. Maybe we could do the same, just get them to start enjoying themselves and see where we go? We can't really do much with the current gameplan until we get some great players in key positions.

Griffin would have to give up the only thing he knows - boring, ultra conservative, percentage football.

He'd probably rather be sacked than try something new and stick to it.

LOL Son Edo, I almost just spat my hot milo over the keyboard looking at your posting/that photograph. But, in all seriousness guys, I think Edo raises a fair point. For those questioning Hook's coaching ability, can you imagine if Henjak was still hanging round the place impersonating a coach LOL.
