This is potentially our best 1-5 we can pick, could argue for Mead on the right wing too.

If we also get Bullemor onto the bench, this could be promising.

Would rather him play a game for actual points that actually does mean something which is does as we don’t want the spoon again. He has as much chance getting injured at training and in trials as he does in an nrl game
The nrl were even good enough to give him an additional two weeks to be on the safe side
Ask any player and they will tell you, it’s the most frustrating part of their job when they are injured and watching their team struggle without them because they know they could make a difference. Bird was just unlucky here and plenty of players have that sort of luck sometimes. If he is good to play then he should play

How long does he need to sit out? He’s already sat out longer than is normal for this injury

"No tackling at training guys, oh and no trial games, and kotoni and payne, you're not getting picked till we make the grand final. Gotta save you for the big games, what's the point otherwise?"
 
Staggs, Croft and Oates are likely to return this round. Lodge and TPJ will see the season out.

Walters:

"I have a lot of faith in our performance staff and we’ll monitor Kotoni throughout the game. At this stage, he could have played a few weeks back and he’s definitely ready to go. He’ll have a few nerves haven’t not played for some time but we just want Kotoni to make his tackles and run hard.”

“I’ve told Matt and his manager that he’s not going anywhere, that’s he’s staying here. We’ve had those discussions with Tevita, that’s ongoing. We want security and stability around the playing group and for that to happen all of that talk around who’s coming and going, staying, is all pushed to the side. It’s not my concern now, my concern is to coach this team to the best of my ability."

“The uncertainty was probably one of the factors among the playing group and who’s staying, who’s going, so we put it in a basket and put it to the side. No one’s going anywhere, we’re going to finish the season in a positive note, in a good note, in a winning note.”

I watched the Kevvie interview. Is it just me, or did his enthusiasm drop when he spoke about Oates? I feel like Ikin has forced him to pick him, especially after his comments on 360 about Coates/Oates. There is surely an issue with Oates/KW.

If Ikin has been able to force Oates to pick (which i doubt) ... then he is off to a bad start and creating unnecessary issues in our football department

if his enthusiasm did drop it's probably because it's the 100th time he's been asked the question

Ikin is the head of the football department. The football department which is on track for it's 2nd wooden spoon in a row. He should absolutely be able to make these kinds of calls and it's a good start.

no he fucking shouldn't ... if DD wants Ikin to make team selections he should have the balls to front the board and demand Walters be sacked immediately.

I'd have no issues with that, but won't improve anything at this point of the season.

Or... Ikin has dumbed it down for Walters to understand that Oates is contracted for next year, and Coates isn't, and he'd be a fucking moron for continuing his current selection policies. Hopefully Ikin has some suggestions for the way Kevvie uses his interchanges.
