Tried hard just not enough creativity. Losing Madden just made things worse. Everything just fell back on Walsh.

Our back 5 seemed to get smashed all night also although I haven’t looked at the stats.

Willison and Walsh?

We did make Walsh do basically everything in the end but we lacked a 7.

My point he was replying to though was over the year as a whole though, its only been Carrigan. Willison isnt one of our big game players yet.

Thought it was a great effort and we just couldn’t ice our opportunities.

Respect Oates for everything he has done but he is so far behind cooked is ridiculous. Injuries or not he can never be on the wing again, at this point it’s disrespectful.

OR, Oates still thinks he's in his 20's and proved overconfident in his ability to get to the line. He's in denial I'm afraid. He isn't Gene Miles anymore. He's a mediocre second rower playing wing.

Thats an absolute nonsense take. Maybe have a look at how he talks about where he is in his career. No way on earth is he thinking he is in his 20's.

On another note.
Love Corey Oates as a former Broncos player. He is cooked and can get fucked now though. Always welcome to come and watch games, just don’t ever play for the club again.

Imagine sitting there since Alfie left as a 7 and thinking you could dominate the NRL and constantly see Brisbane churn through them. It'd get to you I reckon.

Almost Mozer and Black time....

Penrith really get away with a fair bit in the tackle, all night they were pushing themselves up off the tackled man then pushing his head down again slowing the play the ball, Atkins was just letting it happen.
They interfered with the marker from dummy half a couple of times too. Didn't sell it like luai did though, so it's all good

A loss but probably the best game we have played this year. Dropped balls to a minimum and actually hitting in defence. Cobbo again running the ball into touch, what is wrong with his brain?

I don't know what's going on with Hetherington but his hits in defence have disappeared and his runs are pedestrian at best.

Atkins was letting the Riff get away with murder in defence then decided to start penalising holding down in the tackle in the last 10 minutes. Thanks you biased dud.

Our defence and intent was so much better than the last 8 weeks. Nearly every play the ball by Dylan Edwards either didn't touch his foot or was just rolled back beside his foot. Nothing to see from the ref. The last play the ball he had he planted the ball while he was still kneeling on the ground, something we have seen Staggs penalised for multiple times, all good nothing to see here.

For us to beat the riff we need to play almost the perfect game that takes refs like Atkins and Klein out of the game.

Now that we are two 7's down maybe Billy Walters at 7 next week with Mozer on the bench?

That said the role Willison played this game definitely was his biggest role, he basically had to make up for Patty not being in the middle and he handled it well imo, it's promising for the lad given he is still far from the finished article.

They knew kicking to the edge of Arthars and Mariner would've been a significantly harder task for us to get out of trouble than if they kicked to Oates and Cobbo.

That first half was all hard work. It was bringing back GF memories, Their defence was phenomenal then second half came and back to how they have been playing all year. The amount of chances they had in the 10m and not to take advantage of that, is very worrying, the attack plays were non existent. They are heavily relying on Walsh and that will backfire. Some of these boys are incredibly unfit.
