Tommy is a gun. More speed than his old man ever had too. They also have Tommy Talau and Simpkin ready to fire in the spine whenever needed. They have some very exciting youth coming through.
At a guess, maybe a dozen. Jersey Flegg, NSW Cup and his NRL starts included. I've held a Panthers membership for more than a decade up until last year and spent a fair bit of time around the place as my family members have a bit to do with the lower grades there. How many games have you seen Laurie play?
But they have Billy Walters.Tiger’s spine is pretty horrendous. I think it’s even worse than ours.
At least 50. My girlfriend is his cousin, you wouldn’t know her though she goes to a school the next town over.At a guess, maybe a dozen. Jersey Flegg, NSW Cup and his NRL starts included. Tell me, did I miss your answer about Walsh, or did you just choose to ignore it because the answer isn't good?
Yes, very 2021 of you to go to the 'belittle EVERYONE who has an opinion who varies from my own'. Snowflakery. I didn't address anyone else, just you champion. Let them fight for themselves.Every year there's consensus final teams that bomb out, every year there's consensus basement-dwellers who surprise.
That's the nature of sport in a regulated competition. People will be wrong, betting markets will be inefficient and media will be fuelled by external agendas - talking up the Titans and building hype is good for clicks and media attention.. regardless if it's right or wrong.
That's why they play the game, champion!
I'm not saying I'm right or can tell the future, simply sharing my opinion on an internet forum. If that differs from yours then so be it... Maybe you can contribute more to the discussion around the merits of the Titans team than to facetiously try to belittle everyone who has an opinion which varies from your own.
This is what I can't fathom about the Walsh advocates, it's like they've just built him up to be this kid in his 20's who's already earned his stripes in the lower grades and is ready to light up the NRL. In reality though he's a school kid and comparing him to Laurie is just not based in any reality that you could actually justify. At least 50. Nah, I don’t think there is a bad answer because I wasn’t comparing my opinion of the players, I was comparing the fact that both clubs have promising young players in the spine coming through and that it wasnt enough to make their current spine better than the broncos’.
i was talking about current first grade spines of each team, and the only reason I mentioned Walsh (and Dearden) was to say that potential doesn’t change the results this season.
I think you’re creating a composite forum member in your head because I am definitely not one of the posters who think he should be playing first grade anytime soon, or that his success is a foregone conclusions. I’m not even sure I was comparing him to Laurie, it was a net comparison. I think Dearden and Walsh is a fairly reasonable, though obviously not 1;1 comparison to Laurie and Simpkins. This is what I can't fathom about the Walsh advocates, it's like they've just built him up to be this kid in his 20's who's already earned his stripes in the lower grades and is ready to light up the NRL. Laurie is 21, has already finished a season of Flegg in 2018 where he was the player of the year. He's played U18's Origin. He's already played part of a season of NSW Cup and been promoted to the NRL squad at Penrith and now the Tigers where he's already played half a dozen or so NRL games at this level. Making a call on the ability of a player who has done all that is probably just barely reasonable, but even I'd accept that it's not reasonable by much so early on.
Walsh has just turned 18 and hasn't even played Queensland Cup yet. He's Daine Laurie three years ago and still essentially totally untested at senior level and playing outside his age group. He's a promising schoolboy prospect and that's about it right now until the evidence says otherwise.
He might be amazing, I sincerely hope he is because we desperately need it. But to be making a call like that when you haven't seen him play and don't even have any senior football success that you didn't see that you could rely on, the comparison is just not based in reality and purely on hope and hype.
If Milford cops all the criticism around here for not delivering, then I can imagine Ben hunt would be getting torn a new one amongst the dragons’ fansAll our ex-pats have been average at best in their latest game: Offa, Bird, Macca. Early days yet, but looks like we sold them lemons.
Keenan Palasia who is more suited to the middle than on an edge but clearly needs to get some match fitness after spending 2020 on the sidelines coming back from a knee reconstruction.Do we have any more props after Kennedy? We seem so light on up forward this year and you just know that's where all the injuries will be.
Hasn't always been so? Ever since 1988, we've always had to do more than enough to win the tough games as it's NSW's comp. I think whenever I watch a Warriors game that it is pretty much the same deal too.I get a sneaky suspicion that this will be one of pangai 2 highlight games per year... then he will be suspended for 12 games.
We won't win though, guaranteed NRL will want this as a "no longer little brother/QLD ready for another team" game. Dubious 10 metres 1 way, 6 agains that no one knows why until they get an unreachable lead at which point some will be given to us to match it on the stats sheet, unquestioned prop forward HIAs with halves and backs allowed to carry on -all 1 way, pangai penalised multiple times for tackling hard, "harsh" very importantly timed penalties that are easily forgotten about post match in the media, "unlucky" bunker calls....
I will happily bet anyone that the refs performance above will happen..... It's whether the players can beat that
