POST GAME Round 20 - Broncos vs Sharks

Boyd sounded hopeful about Gillett and Bird coming back in this season. Here's hoping.

Gillo himself this morning said the goal at the moment is to play the last 2 rounds (Round 24 vs Roosters & Round 25 vs Sea Eagles) to get him some match fitness and timing heading in to the finals. That's assuming his neck is 100% healed (Scan at the end of next week to confirm) and his calf pulls up alright.

With Glenn's injury I'd be inclined to use Bird as an edge backrower if he came back this year.

I don't know, I wouldn't mind if Gillett and Bird took the rest of the season off and came back 110% fit for next season, this season has a sense of being very 2015ish, we over-achieved that year and if you remember most of the media were saying we would be better again next year.. that obviously didn't eventuate but I think it rings true to us this time around

Who are you using as edge backrowers then? Are a behemoth with dodgy hamstrings and a guy with school in the morning going to play 80 minutes each every week?

Edit: Sorry if that sounded more confrontational than I meant it. It's just really bad luck that we've lost Glenn, Su'a, Gillett and Savelio to long term injuries while all our middle-third forwards have been relatively unscathed.

Flanagan whinging about the bunker because of the no try decision when the ball was placed on Isaako's boot.

said “any fair judge would find it hard to find a sufficient evidence to overrule that on-field decision” ...

however, all of the commentators except Hadley thought it was a no try

The ball never touched the grass. Blind freddy could see it on the reverse angle. Salty coaches gonna salt.

Flanagan needs to write more letters to Buzz who in turn writes letters to Greenturd, telling him that unless the NRL gifts the Sharks a gift run to the premiership then he's going to have to stop protecting him in the DT.

Like that would ever happen.

That win against Melbourne in 2015 is what really took us to that next level.

Let's hope this win can have the same affect. I doubt it will, but stranger things have happened.

Anyone notice how Aaron Woods never once made any attempt whatsoever to play the ball with the foot?

Not. Even. Once. It was tunnel ball every single time. That's what the refs are meant to be cracking down on.

Terrible attack but the defender was desperate and gritty. Also really stoked with the game management of both halves the last few weeks

Silly Super Freak - that would imply the drongos (otherwise known as the NRL) would have a consistent approach to refereeing.

I don't know the answer, I just know that both of these guys have been out pretty much all season with bad injuries and I would rather see them 110% next season, look we might make a run into the finals but it's incredibly hard to do anything if you're not in the top 4.. week 2, maybe?

I would love nothing than for us to make a real fist of it but I am also a realist, that Warriors game could bite us hard.. had we have won that, who knows

I would’ve been gutted if Prior scored towards the end there, hate that POS. Hate that entire side.

Haha I was going to say pretty much the same thing, I really want someone to smash that @#$&. Bloody grub.

I love a dirty win. Nothing gets you up more than slogging your guts out in D. Be under sustained pressure and hold out. You learn so much about yourself and your teammates. Putting 50 on a team lets you know that your team can play footy. Winning by 2 in a battle tells you that your team has eachothers back. So important this time of year.

Well from that mean tweet that Fifita sent Lodge we know who won that battle.

That crackdown stopped around 6 weeks ago. Fafita(the fat one) wasn't much better.
