Round 20 - Cowboys vs. Broncos - Post Match Discussion

Me too. While it's true he did have a shakey start to his NRL career, I thought he was one of the most improved last year and started to really look the goods once he'd gotten rid of his nerves and built up his confidence.

Was tipping him for a big year this one ........
Me too, I thought he'd take it to the next level this year then he went and did his ACL :(

I thought Maranta was ok tonight but certainly is not a long term NRL player for anyone. Not sure why Hodgo was blowing up at him and Hoff after that kick, he had to take it.
Hodges wanted them to leave the ball, Maranta could have shielded it and took it out as a last resort, not like he was going to get back in field anyway.

I was happy Hodges was blowing up, he is full of passion and it shows in every way.

Lol ....no

But I will give him a wink for milking the "cramp" in his leg.

Very quick thinking from the skipper after he plainly dropped the ball when trying to play it.

Could have been an entirely different result, if the refs had of been on to the ruse.
Really Mr Fourex, you couldn't detect my sarcasm??!!?? I always forget its difficult to convey sarcasm over the internet sometimes. Thaiday was just about the worst player on the field (along with Maranta)

Positives- Hoffman has all but ended normans broncos career I hope. Didn't miss norman at all

Negatives- Wallace and team griffindor of 2nd half

Hopefully Hoffman has just ruined any chance Norman had to get back in the side, Hoffman outstanding, Norman would of never of gone for the ball if the cowboys were running at him like that. Oates what a find he is, Hodges class as usual and we won the game without a 5/8...

Good effort despite some poor refereeing and poor execution they were able to grind it out. We look instantly better with Thaiday in Glenn's spot! I also cannot understand how either of these two coaches still have a job, we had two forwards basically get 0 minutes for some unknown reason, it wasn't as if the guys out there were never tired and there was no one forward outside of Parker that should be commanded 80 minutes so I just can't justify so much wasted energy on the bench. Also Neil Henry used his bench appallingly why would you have Scott and Tamou off the field with the game in the balance inn the last 10 minutes? Hoffman looked good at the back and I like the injection of Hodges in attack as a fullback of sorts, Oates looks very sharp and should continue to hold a spot in our 17 regardless of people being fit or not.

The first 25 minutes - so good. Hunt's game for that period made me eat some words.

And then the changes. I cannot understand Hook at all. The momentum, the direction changed ... for the worse. Wallace? He nearly cost us the game - Hook I mean. Tasi for 12 minutes?

Hodges, Gillett, Hoffman and Oates were outstanding. What a refreshing change to see a mostly great fullbacks game, with real drive and energy running it back.

As someone else posted, keep that form building, perfect the execution and BETTER BENCH ROTATION (minus Wallace) and we will give every team something to think about

Griffin was asked if Hunt was going to be starting 7 next year. Said he'll obviously be there next week, so he's a chance for next year.

At last, that winning feeling has returned.

By no means was tonight an 10/10 performance but I really liked some of the plays the boys put in tonight. They made some big statements early and while the foot did come off the pedal part-way through the second half, the boys refused to give in despite being under immense pressure and managed to come up trumps. Very proud of them and I hope fans are able to let go of their pride and enjoy this.

All in favour of renaming BHQ Hodges HQ?

Bowen did a couple of things tonight that made thaiday look like an absolute retard. A fat clumsy retard

thaiday played too much prop imo.

another reason why tasi playing 10 mins is bewildering.

I'll need to catch a replay but on first view I thought Tasi seemed a little off the pace.

Well, I think Bowen would have made anyone look like that. What ever he lost in outright pace, he has perfect instincts for the opportunity and speed off the mark to match.

I must confess I didn't realize how much I missed Hoffman at the back until Norman was hooked. Energy and enthusiasm, speed.

WTF is up with this "1300 Smiles Stadium" ........??

Has there ever been a more ridiculous name for a RL ground?

What happened to Dairy Farmers .....?
