You would have to think the Cows had all eyes on next week to deliver a performance like that.
That one will be a fine... was it only last year that even a grade 1 shoulder charge was a week on the sideline. Now you can get 2x Grade 1's and still only be fined.Lailua now on report for a shoulder charge too
I dunno, wasn't too impressed on their effort against the Eels the week before and I think were looking vulnerable. Titans came to play and had nothing to lose. You would have to think the Cows had all eyes on next week to deliver a performance like that.
Yep it was definitely well below the intensity they've been playing with for the last few weeksYou would have to think the Cows had all eyes on next week to deliver a performance like that.
Yeah, I'll stand by my thoughts on this, they just aren't going as well as most people think. Still a dangerous side but as of now they pretty much cant make the 4 without a lot of results falling their way and they have to beat us and the Panthers. They beat Panthers 27-23.
They beat Rabbits 31-6 (in Sydney).
Flogged the Tigers.
Beat Manly 19-8, again in Sydney.
Beat a resurgent Eels 24-16.
They will beat the Titans comfortably today, only way they don't is if they're already looking forward to our game next week. Keep that in mind if they're not right on their game this afternoon, they have had next week circled ever since we beat them earlier in the year.
They are a confidence team, and they are flying high. I will not be surprised in the slightest if they give us a touch up. We can't let them get too far in front or they will go on with it.
But I also know that we have the team to rattle them and take home the win, too. And this team of ours doesn't look so panicky when they get behind anymore, because they have the belief that they can score points. It's a genuinely mouthwatering matchup and I can't fucking wait!! It's likely we will meet them again in the course of the finals so this shapes as an important game for our mentality as well as our final ladder position.
I dunno. I thought JWH's tackle on Hass was pretty bad, but he only got a fine...This is where we see the NRL's agenda. Considering what happened with Arthurs, the MRC has now taken a no-excuses, player-welfare stance. It doesn't matter if the player was falling, if it's high, forceful (and worse, late), it's a week or two on the sidelines. If the NRL aren't interested in manipulating results for this match, he'll not only be suspended, but we should be given a fair go by the refs during the game.
If he gets off with a fine, we are certain to be fucked over during the game too. It's a clear pattern.
It's how I knew my prediction of an Eels GF win was shot. Kikau was up for charges and it seemed pretty clear cut. If the NRL wanted an Eels victory he'd have been gone for sure. But he got off, and the rest is history.
Yes, yes, tin foil hats. Let's see what happens though.
Campbell body height had dropped and Holmes more gets him with the upper arm. These will factor into the decision.
Shoulder contact to the head this time around... but I guess we are talking about protected darling teams hereI dunno. I thought JWH's tackle on Hass was pretty bad, but he only got a fine...
It'll be interesting to see what the Cowboys do if Holmes is suspended.
Judging by their reserves, they have three options.
Bring back Kyle Feldt and shift either Valemei or Taulagi into the centres.
Or replace directly with Zac Laybutt or Brendan Elliot.
On paper, the Feldt option looks the best with Taulagi shifting in-field. However, it depends on how much faith they have in Taulagi's defence at this level.
I dunno. I thought JWH's tackle on Hass was pretty bad, but he only got a fine...
Apparently the size of the player matters too. According to the circus.I dunno. I thought JWH's tackle on Hass was pretty bad, but he only got a fine...
Feldt has a history of dicking the broncos. He would he the obvious choice but who are we kidding. The NRL won't ban Holmes for this game. They will pull an R v penrith and suspend the ban until 2024.I thought Zac Laybutt looked good the couple of games he had, I'd probably run with that myself. But word out of Townsville is the young guys on the fringe of the top 17 (the likes of Riley Price, Chester etc) were copping a lot of the blame for the early season form - not only from the coach, but the senior players too. So it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Payten doubles down on that and runs with Feldt and a change in someone else's position.
