Round 26 Broncos vs Storm - Pre Game Discussion

I think this is game is likely to be a microcosm of our season. Brilliant in parts, lazy in others.

If we can get away to a quick couple of tries, we might gain some confidence and take it from there. But it won't be like how we've won our other games this season (get over the top by 20 points and cruise out the game, or not and then be fighting in the last 5 to win it).

It'll be 4800 seconds of effort on effort on effort.

The Storm, in Melbourne, for an 8th place playoff. It's going to take something special boys.

Ben Hunt needs a hat trick.

Round 20 - 30-8 from our last outing didn't tell the tale of the tape I thought?

Storm scored 3 quick tries after we made heaps of mistakes and were on the bad end of possession? And Ryan Hoffman's was really dubious, called a no-try on field and incorrectly overturned. And Slater tackled Hunt off the ball for their first try.

And it was just after Hook got punted.

And we kicked it on the third on our first set after 90% of possession against us.

And Hunt had the sads about Griffin leaving.

And Barba had his first game at 5/8 (played well too from memory, could have back himself on a linebreak to score)

Yeah, frustrating game because despite the scoreline we were at least as good as the Storm in every way except a couple of teeny tiny errors and some really, really, really bad calls at absolutely the worst moments.

The Foursome are referring to that game as the one that we all descended in to delirious insanity.

Oates officially named as Thaidays replacement

Echoing thoughts previously mentioned.
Love 2 c Parker at lock with Kennedy/Hannant at prop. Ideally Kennedy starts but just not sure of his consistency in crucial first 15-20. Hannant probably safer bet.
Too much to hope Lowrie plays 50 mins n makes 50 tackles?
If rotations are managed well, I think we got the bench to help maintain line speed, ruck defence n kick pressure.
I'm bloody excited n can't wait for this game. Gonna b a few beers consumed regardless of outcome.

I hope and pray ( lol, difficult for an atheist...To whom do I direct my prayer ? ) that Griffin uses all 17 players well because we know Bellamy will. It has been one of Griffins worst features as a coach this inability to understand that it is a 17 man game. They say WB is a dinosaur but gee the way Griffin uses his squad is anachronistic.

Shut down Cronk and Smith HARD. Roberts is too shit to pick up the slack.

Storm were better - Ryan Hoffman's second try and Cronk's individual effort were all class. But you take away the 18 point start we basically handed to them, add a couple more goals and capitalised line breaks and we could be genuine contenders.

The Foursome?

A small collective of BHQ nerds. As the name suggests, there are four. You have to wait until one dies before you can apply to join. Poor Lamce.

The smug **** had it coming

Just as important for mine is the the catching of the back three, the storm have strong kicking game and we are going to need to be very good under the high ball.

If we give them repeat sets or keep dropping the high ball in our 20 we are in for trouble. Our catching has been really frustrating to watch this year.

So basically Maranta to channel his performance in that Cowboys game in 2012.

Just don't let it be a repeat of that game where we played so well for 60 minutes then ran out of steam.
