You okay mate?
Haha fkn phone and no proof read.

"Our game went to shit when we had that awesome set of 6 when we rolled down field, got to tackle 4 and a sloppy off load from Carrigan to Jensen is dropped, they get down field from a penalty and score. We were on top then and squandered our momentum. We never came back form there.
We need to value possession more"
Is what I meant to say

I haven't read through the comments and to be honest I was too much of a childish sook to watch the full game live and am still too much of a childish sook to watch a replay but the scoreline is acceptable considering the situation.
The main thing I came here to ask is, has that dog May served his suspension for king hitting that guy a couple of years ago? I remember he got his suspension postponed for the finals in 2022 by Lord Vlandal "FoR tHe FaNz", then (from my memory) did his ACL and was out for a year?

Served it when he was injured.

Shame Kotoni wasn't afforded the same luxury.

Call me crazy but I want Madden to be given a few weeks, let’s judge him after a month. He had so much working against him tonight the poor guy.
I'll give him another game, but his kicking was poor when he had time, though to be fair Reyno was doing stupid shit too lately, is it weird that I trust Walsh for the best option these days.

If Madden doesn't get more long balls out I think it's time for Rogers imo, but next week I want Sailor as a bench option for possible hook if Madden shits the bed(and to cover a dodgy Walsh), I like Sailor on the left tbh because it's clearly his best side.

Chances are he probably will be given a few weeks, at least I hope we leave Arey on ice until he's 100%

What do you think about willison on edge though, he looked pretty impressive there.

In my view he is probably our best backup option there/doing middle till we sign someone which we clearly have to do.
He had some OK moments, but when he was there we also had Carrigan out on an edge defending. We need a bloke on the edge who can cover an injury out wide or on edges. Either Oates or Hunt should be on the pine next week, but unfortunately I see Kevvie doing something stupid like putting Sailor there.

Seriously poor reffing. I don't care if people think it is salt. That was a double movement every day of the week except for Panther's games. He tucks his arm into his chest then spreads his arms out after he bounces and it ends up at shoulder height. A movement. He could have left it tucked and maybe scored, but he moved the ball forward. Penalty.

The head clash happens. I see that as bad luck but probably nefarious from Penrith, BUT to have physically a lasting effect on the player due to a head injury on a play that was penalised, THAT should allow for 18th man to come in. Also, they should be allowed to have HIA assessments repeated when a player can't return. Even concussions can take a while to set in after adrenaline is pumping.

The multiple infringements on the line by Penrith including a 6-again just before the Broncos run it into touch (total 4 infringements in a row) clearly shows intent and should be punished. Send a bloke. No excuses here.

I could go on, but I have pizza to eat
it was soo bad, pathetic levels of reffing clearly pressured by the home crowd.

Sailor was the right choice to be fair given spine depth, had Walsh been ruled out of a HIA which he could have been it would have looked genius, Unfortunately Cucked NRL rules don't allow the 18th man to cover the outed man from infringement instantly which should be the case atleast for the 15 mins.

Sailor is a good enough fullback to have completely transformed what would have happened to us in that time, especially since our left edge that was fucked would still have Cobbo there.

I like Madden, and I want him to succeed. I think we probably need to stick with him until Reynolds is fully fit. Tonight was not the best night to judge him on, and it was quite unfortunate for him that that the game turned out the way it did.

However, I'm just not convinced he is the long-term game managing halfback we need after Reynolds.

He does have some ability though, such as a nice passing game and a decent short kicking game, but I feel He lacks composure and his long kicking game is pretty average. If he wants to take over from Reynolds, he really needs to work on that part of his game.

I can see him doing well as a five-eighth type player next to an experienced half, sort of like Brooks/DCE, Cleary/Cogger, etc.

If Walsh was ruled out as 18th man, Sailor would have come in as 18th man anyway as May was put on report, unless I'm recalling the rules incorrectly and they need to be binned?

Sailor on the bench is an absolute waste, and it shouldn't happen, he only covers 1/6, and he can't be trusted to defend in the front line.

Best case scenario, we sign TPJ and he is our bench middle who can do a good job covering edge.

only needs a penalty, and a failed HIA, Sailor can cover the spine, plus wing on a pinch given he is fast and has played there too(since our wingers are centre capable).

Objectively he covers the most positions.

Walsh going early was clearly a domino falling moment, he would have been our main kicker which we struggled on all game and Cobbo going to fullback left his edge exposed with a backrower there who was lamb to the slaughter.

it was definitely a situation we wished we had Capewell still.

We had Patty, Ezra and Arthars on that edge for two of those tries.

Piakura was lamb to the slaughter because there was no communication (which you can see on the replays) and no support and Cleary was able to isolate him. Those first two tries from Panthers were entirely down to the lack of communication from our experienced defenders (mainly Patty and Ezra).

Kenny's try, double movement or not, who the **** falls for a dummy from Mitch fucking Kenny of all players? That was absolutely horrid.

Those are three tries that were preventable even with Walsh out and being forced to reshuffle.

Disagree.

Firstly, they maybe experienced defenders, but Carrigan is also out of position on an edge.

Secondly, you'll find it's Baker who was slow off the line and held for Leota when he should have trusted Walters on the inside and forced Yeo to play early. Instead Jensen and Carrigan all had to hold and it gave Cleary all the time in the world to decide what option to go for. If there was any lack of communication, it was Arthars jamming in and letting Cleary make up his mind.

The second try was a switch play and was more down to line-speed than communication. Piakura had every opportunity to tackle Tago, didn't complete his assignment and it was try time. Walters slow off the line gave Luai all the time in the world to assess the situation, he saw the Broncos defence back on it's haunches and by the time Willison reaches Cleary, it's too late and he sets up the 1-1.

That doesn't excuse the poor defence mind you. I think it was just more line-speed and contact that let the Broncos down.

late to respond but I'm glad Kevvie saw the clear obvious choice to move Cobbo to left centre, the position he should honestly be in for the rest of his career, soo long as he keeps his head I think he will be one of if not the best left centre in the game in the years to come, his right hand fend is one of the best in the game, which he has barely been given the chance to use playing on the right, that try he scored against souths in 2022 was probably the only time I remember him being able to use it at pace.
What I said when I first heard of Kevvie moving Cobbo to left centre, I think this will be a moment we look back to as key change for our team as a whole, Cobbo is a superstar no doubt, will be surprised if he isn't left centre for QLD this year.
