POST GAME Round 3 - Broncos vs Bulldogs

Nah memes have got nothing to do with it.
the fact that Milford hasn’t done anything for years and has taken up a mill a year however does.
He dropped the ball a couple of times last night too. Sure he had a couple of nice kicks but again, he needs to learn when to kick to corners and not bomb all day every day.
He dropped the ball trying to force an offload. I wasn’t overly impressed with his efforts last night. He’s definitely playing like a bloke under pressure, he’s trying but the added pressure seems to have him second guessing himself and that extra half a second is costing him either with a mistake or ineffective play.

Those bombs were nightmare stuff for fullbacks tho

Wish we could get whoever wrote the Greater Western Sydney Giants song to do ours. I hate watching the boys mumble through our team song. 6 years we've been singing it but it's so shit that barely any one sings along or knows the words.

Yeh it's a actually got lines in it that urge the player on to strive for greater efforts. Ours is....well ours is just a cliched heap of crap.

Until our 6, 7 and 9 start directing the team around we are always going to have issues. We have nobody leading and directing this team around. Yesterday was a good base to build from though. We just need to keep being competitive in this run of tough games.

... and until that happens, it can only ever be Broncos by 29

Those torpedoes were a thing of beauty. If the team can give him the time to put those up and put pressure on with the kick chase, that is a massive weapon for this team.

On the bombs; they were causing their back three grief all day, great weapon. But...

He needs to learn kick selection and for god sake, remember he is not playing stuck in the mud after he kicks, he can chase rather than stand back and watch. Utterly infuriating.

Croft was being absolutely blasted by Braith. And everything Braith said was true, as much as I can't stand his commentary. Everything poor old Croft does is pre meditated whether it's on or not.

When Dearden came on, you could see instantly that even though he had a plan, he'd look up at the defensive line and would then decide what to do. It is split second stuff but it makes the difference whether a play has a chance of working or not. He passed once into a gap, he held the ball, and he drove the forwards down the field. It's all you can ask for, and before he scored the try I knew I want him there next week.

Croft offers absolutely nothing. Except good hair, he has that I suppose.
I think if you go back and watch the period of good footy we plaid, Croft did many of the same things you commend Dearden for. We were over at that point, the Dogs defence was in a pickle.

I am not saying Croft was great but I think it's unwise to make a decision based of approx 8 minutes of footy. Also Croft has been one of few there for support on any break we have made, we can't fault him trying. I see a bloke down on offensive form, who is focusing on his defence. He has been good on D and I remember a segment Cronk did about being down on form, he said get your D right and eventually the rest will follow. I hope we give Dearden more time in cup and let Croft pick himself up.

Croft of Milford don’t score that try because they don’t support as much as Dearden.
He legit wanted his hands on the ball muiltiple times in the short amount of sets he played, which is a great sign.
Give him 80 minutes and I am sure we will learn he has a lot more to offer, but in 7 minutes we still learnt that he should be our first half picked in the starting 17.
No, that's just not true. It's true for Milford but not for Croft, a very strong supporter. In fact he'd be the player most likely to be in support of any break. Croft is always backing up and frankly that just shows you don't watch games closely and have an agenda. Mind you I'm a bit biased when it comes to Milford.

You cannot claim that which you couldn't possibly know. Dearden looked alright against beaten guys who had already been out on the field for over an hour in 28° heat.

My favourite part of the Dearden try is that he called for the kick under the posts and Herbie heard him and backed himself, absolutely iced the kick for a beautiful try.

I’m more basing my opinion on the dreadful games that Croft has played, rather than the Dearden minutes. Croft offers nothing, no upside, he’s not the future so let’s just move on. Maybe dearden is or isn’t but let’s find out sooner rather than later ffs.

Yes, opportunistic when the game was long over with but good to watch. Last week the same thing happened too only we didn't see it as a favourite part. It was the Titans doing the same thing. Old mate kicks to the posts from broken play and the Titans guy scores without any Broncos nearby to make it hard.
