Superior fullback option? Who? Milford?

Sure, Milford might be better in attack, but what about defence? Did any of you even watch his defence at the Raiders when he was playing fullback? It was shocking. He lacks the ability to organize which is a very important part of fullback. We might score a couple more tries but we will let more in, as well. And then who do we get to play 5/8?

Overpaid? Not really. What people fail to understand is that when the cap increases, so does player values. The money Boyd is on is pretty standard for a player of his standing.

Delivered for half a season? Yeah, have you watched him since he came back?

He has been a mixed bag lately, but he hasn't been as bad as people are making him out to be. He has played more good games than bad and right now, he is our best option.

Cheers m8..thank you and I pretty much agree with what you say.... a really good 7 needs to be the general as we all know and a great utility is wonderful when the big men start slowing down.

I see Kodi Nikorima more like Shaun Berrigan, who also spent time in at halfback(a stint at least) but truly wasn't effective there IMO. He was much more effective off the bench or playing at hooker or even the centres and that is because they were positions that brought out his real strengths, his running game, agility and speed, he had more selection in his impact on the game. Ask him to step back and guide the side around, provide a kicking game and taking command etc and his just not the type of player able to, you will just hinder him and the team suffers because of it.

Kodi is much the same and it's amplified by having Milford as his partner. Put someone in at halfback who can handle those duties would take immense pressure off either Milford or Kodi if one of them are playing 5/8th, it allows them to play to their strength rather trying to produce them into something they are not. But if you insist playing both together, one of them will need to do that job and again I think you end up hurting the players ability and the team because your trying to make at least one of those two ballrunners into something they aren't. Milford shows some signs of improvement with the boot I will say though I'll give him that.

Difference also was a Shaun Berrimah was deceptively strong so could handle the defence in centres and hooker better than Kodi.

Best bet with Kodi is to drill him like Cronk if he has the work ethic to be manufactured into a halfback. In fairness got to remember he missed the pre season. But surgery doesn’t stop you from studying every part of the game and visualising every situation a hundred times or practicing communicating with Milf all summer long. He needs to spend 30 hrs a week with the basics. Kick technique (start with just short game. Play patterns. Someone to get him talking more. Visualising various opposition defensive styles and how to play them.

Does a Kodi have that kind of work ethic and determination to do it?

I think a lot of people are taking the Tigers defence too easy. It’s been top notch to start the season and it’s proof that two premiership favourites have only managed one try against them so far. Give them a bit of credit

Though 1 bad thing or could be real bad thing is he only has 1 good eye.

I thought that's what made us successful in 2015. Hunt and Milford scheming together. Why that got shelved since then is a great mystery of modern history.

Berrigan was a terrior , so strong for his size . Not sure but I think he was bigger than kodi and a real competitor.

He did well as a middle man against the cowboys. He got us 2 out majority of the time , if not ge took the run.

So the poor refs get made the fall guys. Just coz Gould and his obsequies lackies think it shows their game awareness when they bag the ref for what they got wrong. It's a cancer this mindset. Every year they bag the refs. and we see the rules get changed to satisfy their perceptions of what is wrong with the game. Yet crowd numbers continue to fall despite the fact. Can't wait to see the back of Gould, his hubris is doing our game no favours.

Injury Update: Oates and Pangai

INJURY recovery periods have been confirmed for Corey Oates and Tevita Pangai junior after scan results were returned.
The pair were both injured in last week’s win over the Wests Tigers in Sydney, and are definitely out of the Easter Sunday evening game against the Titans.
But they are still a chance for the following week’s clash against the Knights, depending on how their recovery goes.
Broncos’ High Performance Manager Jeremy Hickmans said both could miss only one or as many as three games.
“Corey has two small tears in his psoas tendon in his hip,” said Hickmans.
“That generally means one to three weeks out of the game, depending on how he heals and how his rehabilitation progresses.
“Tevita will be a similar timeframe.
“He has a tear in the sheath surrounding the hamstring muscle, so will also be missing for one to three weeks.”
The pair will not be named by the Broncos this afternoon when they release the team for the match against the Titans, which will kick off at 6.30pm on Sunday.

I can't believe they've hung these guys out to dry though, Sutton has just caved...He needed to back his guys in this situation and firm his case on cracking down. His refs are going to be too scared to blow a penalty now and they're back at square one.

Ofahengaue's play the ball was fine. He was on a very slight angle, but it wasn't an illegal play the ball. Rochow was never square.

While it wasn't the first time it happened, it was still a legitimate penalty. The refs have been cracking down on this kind of stuff and as a result we got a penalty.

The fact that the refs have been demoted is just ridiculous, to be honest. Their instructions were to crack down on this kind of stuff, then they do and they get demoted for it.
