Told myself if we kicked some ass this year I’d buy that horrible home jersey. Will have to make good on that soon I think.

I don’t know if I’m just being a hater or am just trying to contain my own expectations but as good as Walsh is, I am yet to see him fully show the attributes that make a good origin player. He plays low % footy and avoids contact at the moment. It works at club level but if he doesn’t have the toughness for origin it will be exposed pretty quickly

He's very similar to Slater was at the start, he can do some really good play and score tries but if he has to bring the ball back off his 10 and there is 5 defenders waiting can he take ground and take the hit. Slater took a while to work it out and a few series NSW just kicked and chased and flogged him.

While I have been consistent in saying I think he will leave, if he does stay, I highly doubt it will be before he becomes a free agent, his agent will want to know what other teams are officially offering.

Of course I want to be proven wrong.

Unless we come in with a stupid offer, he will go to market with his current management. No way will they let him not test what others will play.

That said It does look like Walsh did put on a bit of size in the off season, he looks a little bigger then when he was at Warriors, that I remember at least.

100%!

I think Billys strength is his effort and composure. We don't need a livewire dummy half when you have a livewire 1 and 6. Defend well, get the ball out to who needs it quickly and pick your times to run. I'm liking some of his dummy half kicks this year so far as well.
I agree, I was thinking this morning that all we actually need at dummy half is a good defending number 9 who can provide reasonable service. We don't need someone who wants to create his own moments

I would still like a dummy half that can provide something when we get inside the 10m.

Hard to get it out to the backline when you're so close to the goal line so having some sort of threat provides a point of attack that has to be respected by the defence

So is Brooks just going to run every time he touches the hall now?

I just read on The Tigers (poor bastards that is the saddest place I have been) that when The Tigers lose to the Eels it will be a year since he has had a victory. Jesus.

yeah was a pretty sad read over there lol

Luke Brooks did 2 kicks in total last night, I mean if your halfback isn't kicking, what is he there for? 24 tackles with 4 misses and 3 ineffective, I mean what is he offering?

His last win was April 23 2022 and he has since gone on a 15 game losing streak.

He’s also playing in his 10th season of NRL, and barring injury, will play beyond his 200th game this season - he’s never played a single game of finals football. 121 losses in his career for a win rate of 38%.

That is truly awful.

Surprised Casino Joe isn’t getting a game. He’s been one of their better players and was actually putting in

He's going to be absolute gun man, I don't mind at all that him, Walsh and Cobbo continue to try their hand even if it doesn't come off. You want your x factor guys to not put the cue in the rack and our guys don't and these three have oodles of x factor. Mam is the most exciting 6 we've had since Lockyer.
How dare you do Darius like that. For shame.
