Kahu can prove himself in QCup by the way, and it would be ridiculous to select him as an unknown quantity at 5/8 over Hoffman who has been pretty impressive at 6 so far.
Unless my memory is failing me i would swear blind that Copely played his entire stint in U20s as left centreIt's bloody tough, because Hodges & Copley are both right-side players. Vidot is good on both sides but most recently (until this year) been on the right too. Maranta has spent his whole NRL career on the right, but being technically a FB he can presumably cover both. Reed again can do both sides but is the weakest of our backline so far.
So I presume we go to the Union formula ;) One left winger (Vidot, though having him outside Hodges would be tempting), inside centre (Copley), outside centre (Hodges), right winger (Maranta). Solved!
Vidot will get dropped. Copley will move to left wing.

I read somewhere Reed was playing with a bung shoulder? Surely they should rest him if Hodges were to return. He's massively ineffective at the moment, and we have Copley and Oates as options (depending on Copley's current injury).
Right centre, only played on the left on the odd occasion...Unless my memory is failing me i would swear blind that Copely played his entire stint in U20s as left centre

I just don't see Reed being dropped and I think Copley will get dropped or Maranta will get dropped with Copley playing wing if Hodges is back. I don't necessarily agree with that though.
Welcome GtB. I reluctantly agree. I like Reed, but he is the weakest link .Goodbye.At least Fighting Irish will be happyFirst time poster, long time listener\lurker.
In my opinion, I think Maranta or Vidot will get dropped because i think Hook cares too much for Reed. But if i was coach, this would be my lineup if\when Hodges returns.
1. Barba
2. Vidot
3. Copley
4. Hodges
5. Maranta
I think a Hodges\Vidot combination could be a real weapon that could challenge any outside back combo in the NRL if Vidot switched sides.
I don't think Reed provides too much value when all our other backs are firing like crazy. Copley has been awesome (and i wasn't a fan of Copley in earlier seasons) and Vidot has almost been the buy of the season! He is definitely a meter eater.
its not that i dont like reed but the others are just offering more. copley can hit a hole like a demon. vidot's metres are massive. maranta has been supremely safe in defense (and starting to look good in attack)
