Now you're just sounding foolish ... The primary job of a half is not defense, never has been ... never will be.

that doesn't mean he doesn't have to work on his defense ... it just shouldn't be top priority.

take a look at James Maloney ... quite possibly one fo the worst defenders ever to play NRL ... yet he has won premierships at 2 different clubs and led the Blues to an Origin series win

Hey...you’re the one trying to defend his non- defence as being ok. Maybe stick with talking up his non-existent running game as being ok as well.

Don't get me wrong,... huge fan of the old model but laziness has crept in and not a good look for the young fella. I agree though a half shouldn’t have to tackle but when a try can be saved there are no excuses. Roosters last week used him as a turnstile - he wouldn’t or couldn’t lay a hand on them let alone attempt to stop their progress.

Fascinating to see which Broncos team turns up. I thought they were good value at $3+ last week against the Roosters so they must be even better value this week at $4+ by that logic :)

Theoretically it wouldn't take much, a little roll on help to start and a try or two and then to actually tackle in defence (I think page 63 in the winning without the ball playbook)
