PRE-GAME Round 6 - Broncos vs Roosters

Bad timing for RTS to announce he's leaving, look what that has done to manly. Probably a good thing for the broncos. I think RTS we'll be good but not for 800k. RTS is one of those players that has a mad run up the field and everyone thinks he's the man.. Cough cough KEVIN LOCKE. But I hope he goes well, he's career would of been ten times better at roosters though :)

I think in the cowboys game Milford but a huge torpedo bomb and had the fullback junting around and let it bounce before being smashed. So milf definately has a good bomb on him.

Gerrard Sutton is the main ref for this game.

9 wins from 23 games.

We lost against the Roosters when we had him.

Yeah and I've seen him hit them at training. Monstrous. He has to hit a few and hope RTS drops a few to dent his confidence. He will be hot atm

Who are the Warriors releasing Tomkins to? Surely they will have to pay a massive part of his wage still.

Not really related to Roosters vs. Broncos but Warriors won't have to pay any part of his salary. In this case it is the player who wants to break the contract, not the club kicking him out Kennedy style.

tomkins is going home.

anyway i think we have a real shot this week due to RTS, now news tupou is going too. maloney seems to be unwanted (and playing terribly), guerra out, fergrubson out, no friend still, etc.

I really hope hodges and Blair are fine to play, because I can't see us winning without hodges at the back putting that last pass in to score. When he came off at the warriors game, we had no offence. And even though the titans game we score points, any team can score 20+ against the titans. That's why I think Boyd will be one of the best signings in the last decade. Taking the pressure off hunt and milf. And We need Blair to add mongrel to put pack.

I want niggle all game long! Look how the sharks did it, that's how they one. And we have a way better forward pack than the sharks. So we stop them upfront, we stop Pearce and RTS. Simples as that! Cannot wait for the game!

Where is Tupou going? I completely missed that

Parra and Panthers chasing him hard apparently.. I dunno how the **** the Panthers have any salary cap left

Edit: Not to mention they've already got Mansour & DWZ on the wings..

That's incorrect. The club would have to top up the contract to its full value, if a player was to go to another NRL club for a lesser wage, as both parties (club and player) need to reach an agreement, regardless of whom started the proceedings.

However, as he is returning to England, I would assume that would be the end of it...

This is not related to the Roosters game, but I wasn't sure where to ask this and I don't think its worthy of its own thread, but would anyone be interested in David Shillington?

His past couple of seasons haven't been great but he was a key figure in QLD's origin domination aswell as being an ex Kangaroo. He certainly has experience, has a big body, and we could use someone of his size. Perhaps Bennett would be able to get the best out of him, unlike Sticky.

Its just a thought. I wouldn't personally necessarily be against it. I would like someone like Burgess, Fifita, Matulino, JWH or the like, but I can't see us getting any of those. He seems to be fighting for his NRL career so he would probably come cheap.

I'd like to hear everyone else's opinion.

Hodges and Blair failed their fitness tests and are officially ruled out for the weekend
Apparently Blair still hasn't been able to run on his corked thigh

There is no black or white rule in regards to 2 parties coming together for a contract discussion. If both parties agree to break/end early the contract then there is no need to top up for next year as the contract is now void.
Going to another NRL club was never in the discussion.

Regardless, i think it was pretty obvious the Warriors were never footing any bill for Tomkins next year.
