PRE-GAME Round 6 - Broncos vs Roosters

I would almost lay money that Blair will start instead of Thaiday with Garbutt forced out of the 17

Looking forward to the game.

Brisbane have shown a lot of positive signs but clearly have their share of deficiencies and they're no where near as polished as the Roosters. The only area where I believe we're better is that the Roosters lack discipline and will concede cheap turn-overs or give away costly penalties that can keep us in the contest.

I'm not going to put too much emphasis on anything, especially if Blair and Hodges don't come into the side but I'm more interested in this clash than I was last week where it felt like the Broncos were on a hiding to nothing. This week seems like an opportunity for the Broncos to make a name for themselves, instead of being a team that is just making up the numbers which is where they're at currently.

And to be honest, if you're not in the Top 4 teams, that is all you are.

I think Wallace makes greater contributions off the bench, but I don't want Thaiday playing prop. I wouldn't mind a big body like Garbutt starting alongside McGuire. Either way hopefully Garbutt gets more minutes, or at least comes on when we're not just defending set after set so that he can actually use his running/offload game.

I initially feared the worst for Nikorima, but I'm still not convinced he's certain to play. I wouldn't be surprised if Molo comes in at the last minute.

The juicy odds of 2.10 for the Broncs makes me keen for a modest wager !

I am totally unconvinced by the Roosters and really, judging by the opinions on this forum about how crap Cronulla are you would have to think the Roosters are no chance ! Aside from that obvious bullshit the Roosters haven't looked all that special. I saw them get to the front the other night and still they lost the game. It really is an even match and with a bit of belief and an equal share of the luck ( and no stupid arse ref screw ups) we can win the match. I would love to see the Broncs win and Souths lose...how great would that be..hell, I'd sign a petition just to get AP back so we could let him know all about it !!!!

Just to correct you for a second Huge, the Roosters trailed the entire match against Cronulla. They got within 2 but before they even got a chance to go for 3, Pearce made a meal of the kick-off and Bird scored off the ensuing set, putting the match beyond doubt.

Otherwise I agree with the general gist. They got themselves back into the game and handed it straight back over. It's still early days and every team is certainly beatable but what I think people are saying is that we shouldn't be going into this game too cocky.

Bennett would never admit this either publicly or to the players, but he probably sniffs an opportunity here. Being in the top 4 leading into Origin has to be better for us in the long run, and he would know that. He will gee the boys up a bit more than he usually would this week, with Friend and Guerra out, with Hargreaves possible to join them, we won't get a better chance.

I actually was referring to the match against Souths ! I know I should have qualified what I said but even when they got ahead they couldn't go on with it ( at least on that occasion )

I just think they are very vulnerable with injuries and a five day turnaround after what was a very physical match. The Roosters even admitted that they got beaten in the forwards. I don't think for a moment that we are on some white hot streak or that we are flying, I know where we are, mid field at the moment but not without hope. If we continue with this improvement we can win, this year.

Maranta is more inform than RTS??

I read somewhere that Maloney missed like 9 tackles against the Sharks, get gillett to charge at him all game.

We have the more inform Fullback, Halfback and hooker.

We'll win.

Our halves and hooker are more inform, but RTS is developing into a freakish FB, thank god that it looks like the Warriors are favourites to sign him. Clubs better lock up their promising juniors quick smart, because the boys from Bondi will be on the prowl.

RTS is a good fit with anyone, he's a fucking weapon.

Warriors are going to be insane next year if they can stay healthy with Fisiiahi etc

I wonder how many of those 'kicks in space' end up being 20m restarts?

Ben hunt is 1st in stats of long kicks and kick into space? Maybe his kicking is up to scratch after all

It really hasn't been.

He usually puts in a few good kicks each game, but most of them end up going dead or kicked straight to the fullback and they are allowed to run 20+ metres before being tackled.

On the plus side, he is not putting up as many mid field bombs anymore..
