POST GAME Round 6 - Broncos vs Roosters

Can't see why Oates should start off the bench. For mine he is a key 80 minute impact player for us.

I will be surprised if there is no cover for the halves and hooker on the bench.

saw that. Did you see the big grin on his face......smartarse lol

I have to see this. Can anyone tell me at what minute in the game Kahu pretended to go after the short kick off? I missed it.

Bit late NRL u useless pricks.

Have we finally been given a valid reason as to why the video referee should be able to adjudicate on forward passes?
There has been little opposition to the decision to ban those in the bunker from ruling on forward passes in tries.

Ben Hunt knew the try he scored should have been allowed.

In the early stages of the second half of Thursday night’s match between the Brisbane Broncos and Sydney Roosters at Suncorp Stadium, Ben Hunt scored what looked a perfectly legitimate try for the home side.

Prop Korbin Sims and five-eighth Anthony Milford had combined well to give Hunt the chance to score. He did just that, only to soon learn that the match officials had called up play for the forward pass.

Case closed and no further correspondence will be entered into. Those are the rules.

Just been watching that new show the Professor has.

Did anyone see those fans that took cut outs of the breed of dog Pearce pretended to **** to the game?

Was that legit? Looked superimposed to me. Happy to be proven wrong though considering I hate Roosters fans and it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Usually you can tell if it's photoshopped.

It looked pretty legit.

Yeah that's definitely fake. Professor does a lot of Photoshop/digital art stuff.

Can they at least add those four points to our for and against?

They won't because of who we are (ie not nth qld). Roosters also have to -4 as well.

Everyone who is criticising Moga's defensive efforts are completely overlooking the fact he was working with a completely new edge combination with Mead and Glenn coming in for Oates and Thaiday. That changes a lot, especially with timing, communication and positioning, not just for Moga, but the whole defensive unit.

In the first miss, that was not at all Moga's fault, and in fact, he did well just to make an attempted tackle. Moga and Mead were actually marked up against four Roosters because the defenders inside them let them down. The inside defence just got the numbers wrong, and it was a simple overlap with Keary taking the right option with the short ball. If anything, Milford should of committed to Keary earlier, then Moga could of come in to shut down the play, with Mead following him in as well in case it went out the back.

Regardless, I must say Boyd wasn't positioned very well and in the end made a pretty lousy attempt to stop Aubusson.

As for the second miss, that once again comes down to the new defensive combination as a result of the lineup change. The players on Moga's inside were way too compressed due to the previous play the ball, but they didn't react and slide when the Rooster's shifted the ball. Instead they momentarily planted their feet, which meant Milford was a little late in getting to Keary, creating the overlap which allowed Fergusson to get on the outside shoulder of Moga, and from that position he is always pretty hard to stop. I will say though that Moga made a poor defensive choice to go high because in that situation he needed to go low around the legs.

I would buy that if Moga had not been getting found out defensively all year, but he has been. Luckily for him other defenders, mainly Oates, saved it from resulting in a try.

As for the second miss, Fergo ran straight through him. Moga had a very good chance at tackling him, but he just comes up with a very flimsy attempt at tackle.

I don't know. It'd be nice, but sets a nasty precident. The NRL can't go adjusting the ladder after a match due to dodgy calls. That would become an even bigger, more controversial issue.

You'd imagine so, we don't really have anyone else who fits the bill of a "utility" under contract.

Korbin also got scans on his ankle this afternoon, we'll probably find out the severity tomorrow, I imagine he'll miss a week or two as well. Could have a very different bench heading in to this game.

I wouldn't be shocked if Oates starts on the bench, this could be the perfect time to transition him to the back row.

1. Boyd (c)
2. Mead
3. Roberts
4. Moga
5. Kahu
6. Milford
7. Nikorima
8. Ese'ese
9. McCullough
10. Blair
11. Glenn
12. Gillett
13. McGuire

14. Oates
15. Pangai Jr
16. Thaiday
17. Arrow

Potentially..

Offa for arrow , we need another prop on the bench

They were real, I saw them at the game and you can see them on the channel nine broadcast. From what I could see it was a cut out of the actual dog from the photo that ended up in the paper.
