Badel reporting that Cobbo will be replacing Niu at fullback.

Niu facing 6 weeks on the sidelines with a torn hamstring

If Billy starts this game at 6 then I want a new coach.

It's hard to judge Cobbo completely on last game at FB because he hasn't played there for awhile and had no set play training there either but I think I would rather Mead there as steady hand if Herbie isn't fit.

if Turpin is picked, Paix should start at least, I don't think he has ever started at 9 before and he deserves a shot already.

Also Jensen should start.

damn that's while ago, though he has improved alot since then when he was still transitioning from being a half.

-Billy is the club's best option atm.
-Mead is injured
-Neither Paix nor Turps are first grade standard. Starting the former won't make a lick of difference.

I didn't see anything that Billy has done that basically any back couldn't do, he didn't really do anything that is half specific skill wise, he was mostly doing Hit ups and tackles and kicks that had no result.

as for the hookers, trying nothing and being out of ideas doesn't really sound smart either.

You need to have a decent roster to try new things. Apart from a select 3-4 players, this team is bog average to awful. Fans of crap teams are always obsessed with making wholesale changes thinking the answer will lurk in a reserve grader on minimum wage. It doesn't.

A stable lineup is the key as it forms combinations and provides experience and confidence. This team is gradually improving but when you hit rock bottom, it takes many years to rebound. The Broncos are no different.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this:

1. Cobbo
2. Oates
3. Staggs
4. Hoeter
5. Farnworth (especially if it is confirmed he has signed with Redcliffe)
6. Walters
7. Reynolds
8. Haas
9. Turpin
10. Palasia
11. Capewell
12. Riki
13. Hetherington

14. Jensen
15. James
16. Flegler
17. Paix

I also have no idea why James keeps getting picked and this isn't the team I would go with either but a lot of it really is either / or.

there's obviously a reason for it , but you're right it's odd . maybe Herbie is not due back for a few weeks, or he's signed elsewhere.
Has he signed for the Dolphins?

The problem is Allan is no better than our options.
We have no fullback option though. Am I missing something? Niu is injured and out indefinitely. Cobbo has played 46 mins of fullback in first grade, and isn't ready in my opinion. Farnworth has played 0 minutes and is currently injured. Mead is injured. Isaako was released. Jesse Arthurs is at the Warriors on loan. Which options are you referring to as being better than Allan?

A winger in the front row? That’s a bold strategy, Cotton!

An injured Niu
An injured Farnworth
An injured Mead
Cobbo
An untried Staggs

Also Farnworth only had a cork so good chance he's back anyway

You know you're in trouble as a club when 80% of the posts in a pre-game thread are about Herbie Farnsworth and Corey Paix being the saviours.
It’s worse when even our fan base can’t seem to spell 2 rather simple names in Farnworth and Cory.

What has Paix done to say he should start? He has been average.

I'm a fan of Paix but it just cannot be argued, he's been no better than Turpin, probably even below. I think it must be said though that he comes on with the bench and the last couple of rounds, the bench has been FAR inferior to the starters but even so, he needs to do much more.
