I highly doubt anyone else would have signed Billy Walters, especially coming off a knee reco.

Take your pick really. However to pretend like Walters' hands were tied and he has no other choice but to pick his son is off the mark.

not saying that at all but Bellamy and Madge signed billy so you can't say he doesn't have value as a player. i don't begrudge Kevvie one bit signing Billy on a 1yr minimum wage deal , obviously Kevvie can trust him and it's not like he has given him the positions it's taken injuries.

Both of them also let him go. He wasn't getting any younger and barely had any NRL experience to his name. Suffice to say he's here because of his dad...

Problem with Billy is he just isnt good enough for the NRL. He's like Luke Capewell, Darren Nicholls or Sam Scarlett. Good in Queensland cup, but just dont quite have enough to esteblish themselves in the NRL.

He would of been justified as a Utility rather then being a 6 or a 9, but we did also let go of Levi who many thought me included was our best Hooker.

And for 6 we had options granted not very exceptional but better then Billy has ever shown in the game.

It's hard to justify why he was signed, an old player who hasn't got much experience, not to mention the stigma of signing your son when he isn't good is an easy way to lose the locker room with claims of nepotism.

While the Billy signing isn’t a bad one necessarily, it was just redundant as had just extended Gamble and Kelly and had Mam coming through. The last thing we needed was another depth half.

We don't exactly know what amount of money Billy is on and why exactly would I have to handicap myself and choose to budget on a position I highly value? Again the point was that there were plenty of options out there, Kev wasn't forced to sign and play Billy at 9, he did that on his own accord.

Even If he was more he would have a purpose and actually improve the squad, we can sign plenty of depth options for min wage that offer nothing, it doesn't justify them even having a wage in the team.

He covered spots we had better players in, there was little purpose to his signing, Levi on the other hand improves our team in a starting position.

Signing Billy isn’t the reason for our recent struggles.
Not signing Billy wouldn’t have put us in a better position this year.
There was no alternative signing of any undeniable value available who we missed out on due to signing Billy.
It’s a non issue. He’s here now for a year and he’s been a useful member of the team who has done some good and some bad but isn’t and shouldn’t be in our long term plans… not sure what else there is to analyse.

i could almost guarantee the Huddersfield offer was bigger and it's not like levi is a weapon he's depth, and he can't play 6 .
