“That Blues jersey is on my mind. I have always wanted to play Origin for the Blues and if I have to keep performing better and keep improving to get the jersey, I will."
“Talakai has been playing well. I have been watching him and he is outstanding. He is a massive body and he uses it well. If the opportunity is there for him to run over the top of someone, he will do it. He backs himself. I saw some highlights of the Cronulla-Manly clash and it didn’t look like a happy night for the other centre Morgan Harper in the Manly team. I have played against Talakai before, so I know what I have to do, I can’t afford to go high (in defence). It will be a good test for myself and I will be doing everything I can to stop him and help the team out."
“I was pretty close to Origin before I did my knee. I am in a better headspace now and if I was to get the jersey, I will take it better with both hands. I saw ‘Freddie’ after the Roosters game at Suncorp. He said just keep playing well and back yourself. Whatever he needs me to do to play for NSW, I will do it.”
Walters:
“You have to look at the flipside, Talakai has to handle Kotoni. It’s one of the standout battles of the round. I can’t wait to see how Kotoni and Talakai go at it. Kotoni is still developing as a player but I believe he is ready for Origin. State of Origin is on the horizon for him and I have no doubt he will get there if he stays on the path and keeps playing well.”
