When you start the game with a solid option rather than the best option, to further emphasise the impact your better option off the bench has on the game.. then you go on the win by 20 with the bulk of the points scored in the last phase of the game, why wouldn't he do the same again?

It's not a father/son thing at all, he knows that Paix isn't an 80 minute player but he also knows he's a genuine 9. This is exactly what Bellamy was doing last season with Smith/Grant, Smith would start the game and Grant would finish the game.

Game plan for me is to shut down the sharks outside backs. Their two centres ran over 400m last week. Their forward pack is average. If we stop them from being out to go sideline to sideline coming out of their own end we have a good opportunity to stop the yardage.

Our edge defence is what is going to win us or lose us this game mark my words.

We probably don’t get away with it against any other team in the comp. I will give Billy the benefit of the doubt, he will have taken a lot out of last week, but he’s gotta improve this week, because the sharks will punish us and it will be too late for Paix to do anything about it.

Smith was Dally M Hooker of the Year. Billy is depth. Tyson is depth. TMM is depth. Paix is depth. Turpin is depth.

From where I'm sitting it looks like he created a vacuum to suck his son into. Don't forget we had Tom Dearden, who's now flourishing under another coach and beside a lesser 7 than Reynolds.

but lets not forget it was nearly universal that dearden had to go. i cannot remember much uproar from any fan about it. most were saying it was best for him more then anything because we ruined him.

And alot more changed there tune about billy when he played well in the trials and had a solid game rnd 1.

Bottom line is kevie will live or die by his decision. he must know if he finishes poor this year he wont be here next year.

I think Kevvie would have had a word with Billy and told him to just keep it simple. Get the forwards rolling and get the ball to the halves, if you see a chance to run then take it. But just keep it simple.

completely agree . I think we have ruined a few players to be honest.

but all we can do now is hope DD and ikin can steady the ship. they both dont seem like guys who will accept nepotism. either that or they dont care if kevie keeps making mistakes because it makes it easier to push him out.

this. the one reason i hold out hope is because i have seen billy have a few solid games for the tigers before getting injured. i thought at time he seems like a tidy hooker. nothing flash just simple clean ball to his forwards. and i like that hes not afraid to run the ball.

yeah i still cannot understand why anyone thought that was a good idea. even after clearly seeing it not working they just stayed the course.

Still baffles me that a club as huge as us has managed to have such poor people running it into the ground. Rather impressive when you think about how incompetent they have been

Billy is a depth player at best, but his daddy has given him the top job in the NRL: being our permanent roving spine member. He'll be back at 6 next week when Turpin returns, then if Ezra ever gets a start he'll be 14, while Cory goes back to the Magpies.

We still don't have a stable fullback, five eighth or hooker. What the **** has Walters been doing the last year? It's an embarrassment.
