Ever yelled at a home game? The weird stares from the old people and families are enough to make most people stop (drunk bogans notwithstanding).
What kind of sad state of affairs has created this?
Here in Sydney no matter which ground I go to everyone is yelling, families included and most are not what I would call bogans either.

The main thing you notice is the constant booing for penalties off basically every play the away team does, you heard it on TV with the Penrith game but in person at every game it's like that at a Sydney ground.

The talk this week has been about how we missed out on Hynes.

The narrative is set. Hynes is going to come in and have a blinder to sink the boot in on the Broncos missing out on him, and all the talk in the media for the next week is going to be about our recruitment and how we dropped the ball on getting Hynes.

Yeah, we fucked up there.

I think there is merit in that though. According to 360 we were talking to him before anyone else and he had come up and looked at the facilities. If we had offered him proper spine money, say 400-450K over three years as opposed to 1 mil over 3 years he may have well signed there and then.

BUt then Sharks come in with 1.5mil and he's closer to home so any chance of getting the drop on other clubs was gone then.

I'm not interested in good trainers though, I'm interested in good players and that requires playing, they are not the same thing, otherwise terms such as match fitness wouldn't exist.

It's a mental game and that side basically determines everything about their performance at the end of the day, the game pressure can't replicated in training.
Te Maire has played 4 test matches for New Zealand at 5/8th, and a Grand Final, where he scored the only try for the Cowboys. As for his mental game, I think we can see the kid is tough as ****.

He's a very low risk pickup, at the right price.

Upgrade and sign him. Say - 1 mil for 3 years?

We never even got to the $ stage. He wanted to be closer to the coast. Game over.
What I can't understand though is why did he come up and look around the facilities though? If it was so cut and dried he wouldn't have bothered coming up here surely?

Yip. it took me and my mates half the season to get the oldies to engage. Mind you we were sitting in the members stand in the players family area.
Man I hope none of the players families have heard some of the things I’ve said about them at games. No wonder Isaako wanted to leave lol

I can think of a few reasons: curiosity (who wouldn't want to check out the best facilities in the league), due diligence and leverage.

He looks like he's worth more than Tyson, Billy and Albert. There's a starting price. He's not worth as much as what we have in mind for Selwyn. There's a cap.

And, just in case we did a Titans and offered him stupid money which could not be refused.

If it prevents me from ever having to see 1 of either Billy Walters or Tesi Niu in our spine again it will be money well spent.
