I think there is merit in that though. According to 360 we were talking to him before anyone else and he had come up and looked at the facilities. If we had offered him proper spine money, say 400-450K over three years as opposed to 1 mil over 3 years he may have well signed there and then.

BUt then Sharks come in with 1.5mil and he's closer to home so any chance of getting the drop on other clubs was gone then.

We weren’t ever getting him. Even if we matched the offer, he would still have leaned towards the Sharks because that’s where his family is. He could stay and be with his family and still make the same amount of money.

We would have had to offer overs, and he’s not worth that.

The one thing that gives me any confidence at all in this game is that our marquee players are starting to actually perform as marquee players.

If Reynolds, staggs, Hass, capwell and flegler can perform to the value they are been paid then we always have a chance.

Unfortunately recent history proves there's another absolute rubbish no effort performance always just around the corner. So until we can pull together a string of consecutive form I'll always have this fear in the back of my mind of "oh no, here we go again".

Good luck, anything less then an 80 minute performance won't do.

Yeh perhaps the one that got away. But, what a story if it becomes a sliding doors moment and TMM eventually moves into 6 and kills it playing the other side of Reyno.

Yip. it took me and my mates half the season to get the oldies to engage. Mind you we were sitting in the members stand in the players family area.

I think RL support in general, apart from Origin, its pretty tame. When i compare it to games in English football its got nowhere near the atmosphere.

That’s because the crowd in soccer games need to entertain themselves somehow. Why do you think they used to have any of those riots?

They used to get too carried away with the tribalism. Football imo is just a better product all round than RL. Suncorp is like a library compared to Football grounds in England.

If the the English game has atmosphere you need to experience a Rangers v Celtic game in Glasgow.

Mum and Dad would not allow me to go to the game unless I promised to wear an industrial crash helmet. Painted in team colours of course .
