POST GAME [Round 8, 2022] Broncos vs Sharks

Best defensive effort I've seen in four years. Totally nullified the likes of Hynes, Taliki and Kennedy. A bit more of this could result in a playoff spot. Haas's shoulder is a real concern though.
I find it fucking HILARIOUS people were comparing hynes and Reynolds. Teams have had 10+ years to try and sort Reynolds out and they haven't, he makes everyone else around him better despite being a hunted man for a decade. Hynes has had about 10 games in the halves, half of them in the most well drilled team in the nrl that a duck could play half-back and look good. Do people think teams won't figure them out? In 2 years time then start POSSIBLY talking about a comparison

our goal line defense was nearly flawless. so huge wraps to them for that.
Probably our best defensive effort all year hopefully we can build on it

Staggs reynolds and cobbo are really starting to form a great combination in defense on that side.

Billy got a pass mark.
Thought his second stint was way better then his first.
We still looked miles better with paix on but obviously the coaches dont think his fitness is there.

I dont clench my ass cheeks everytime a bomb goes up with TMM back there he just oozes conifdence and looks the good for fullback for the foreseeable future
Gamble also mentioned TMMs talk at the back and how it has helped their defence.

He made some good passes but do the several errors he made make up for that? His kicks were god awful. Dropped ball also threw some shocking passes and failed to get into dummy half after Oates made the break because he was too busy yelling at the players around him. That was a shocker of a game, saved only by a few decent pass on to individual brilliance to score.
He honestly looked like he doesn't fully understand his role being the secondary half but there is a player in there, He isn't this bad of a kicker usually it's like he is double thinking it or something.

He was barely OK but brought some mongrel against the dogs. This game he had a chance to shine and did the opposite.

I think it's time to test our depth there.

Talaki is just a poor man's David fifita playing centre. Turning circle of the titanic. Will get absolutely found out this year.

No wonder Holbrook thought fifita would work lol...

Actually, staggs made him look like Andrew fifitas brother, not the cousin lol

Probably not a coincidence Arey is on that side of the field. I always knew he was a good player, but he is better than i thought tbh. He defence is good, and like i said earlier, he's just like Locky in a lot of ways. Has that calming influence and just gets everyone organised. I think the last 3 weeks he's been our most important player and our best player. He's not only brilliant in his own right, he's making everyone else better.
Yep same... I thought we needed to put players around Reynolds (and we still do), but even with a poor spine around him he's just putting them on his back and providing spark as well as providing the leadership to get us around the field.

He's our most important player right now.

I honestly can't believe Souths let him go... he's a top 3 halfback... might even be the second best halfback in the comp

I really can't believe how bad Gamble was. It's not a good sign when you hope your #6 doesn't kick the ball. I know we won really well, but he needs to be replaced. Either Turpin back to 9 and Billy to 6, or TMM to 6 and Cobbo to 1.

Why the **** are the channel 9 team talking up talaki hahahahaha gallen just said talaki was better! Staggs OWNED HIM for the ENTIRE 80 MINUTES and gallen just said he had staggs measure in the 1st 40 mins hahahahahaha

Didn't see it live. But it sounded amazing on the radio with Ginnane, Benji and James Graham with Dobbo on the sideline calling it. You could tell which commentator was which due to their accents, and it was a good combination. It would be interesting to see how Graham and Marshall would go calling together on T.V with Ginnane.

It sounded like a great team performance by us all round. Yeah there are little things to be worked on, Gamble was hit and miss, Farnworth should of passed and Capewell should of had somebody in support.

But that's stuff to worry about tomorrow. It was a gutsy win, and they deserve a chance to enjoy that one for a bit. But then move on and prepare for next week.

His issue imo is that he far prefers the right side but that’s Reynolds side. When Reynolds went off he went straight over there and put a try on

And his attack, some of his passes tonight were just a chefs kiss.
I think the thing I love the most is he's so calm - I don't panic every time the ball is bombed to him, he's on it, safe. The one he missed was only due to interference from Kennedy. The first try I think it's pretty harsh to bring him into question there he had to cover for Payne who was lazy getting back into the line and as a result wasn't back there to defuse anything. Best fullback we've had back there in 3+ seasons, it's like he's been there for months.

Adam Reynolds gave Hynes an absolute bath and it was glorious.

his attack speaks for itself, but his ability to read the opposition in defence is next level. He doesn’t have the size, but 9/10 he shoots up quickly and shuts down the play, putting pressure on the opposition. It’s something we haven’t had since Lockyer.

the less said about Herbies passing game the better, just add my signature to @McHunt ‘s agenda.

He also had 2 errors, 7 missed tackles and a few ineffective. Kicked the ball right to them as well as giving them a dumb bomb into the ingoal for a 7 tackle set right at the pointy end of the game. Not a lot of that has to do with being on a different part of the ground.
