Porthoz, I realize the post was provocative and sorry about that. Balance is vital, I just get a little frustrated with the one-sidedness against Hook at times. He has made mistakes sure but he is doing everything he can to rectify them and I just few that since he has been baagged from pillar to post, he has earned the right to be defended a little.

I can definitely see sprojs point. Balance is definitely needed but it can be frustrating at times because there is just so much negativity, and unwarranted negativity at that.

We spent an off season where a group of posters assured us like they were nostrodamous that by end of round four we would be winless and griffin would be gone, macca is rubbish, we are certainties for the spoon blah blah blah and if you had the audacity to disagree you were called a cheerleader and that you weren't a realist.

It's funny how most of them strangely aren't posting.

But like you said balance is needed, I just hope certain posters can see where some of the frustrations are coming from

and most of you 'cheerleaders' were screaming the same thing after the trial.

Hook has me eating some humble pie. He has our forwards playing really good footy and our inexperienced halves are feeding of them. Still a long way to go but he is on the right track. Getting through Origin is the key,

For mine, using the potential Barba offers is the key, as is ensuring Hoffman develops quickly into a play maker in a play making position, or removing him before it is too late.

Other than that, Hook is doing well this season. The forward momentum is so refreshing.

Not admiting I'm wrong to a thing. Everything I have criticised was true and I still believe the wheels will fall off this season

That's the spirit, keep death riding the team. As we all know it's what true fans do

When do they release the finals tickets I don't wanna miss out this year

If we're gonna blame Griffin for holding players back, let's also credit him with the gigantic improvement by guys like Macca, Thaiday and last but not least... Maranta!

Aside from turning our fitness around (an issue I still feel he contributed to) I think sacking Thaiday as captain is one of the best decisions he's made ever as a head coach. It's had a tremendous affect. McCullough is also much improved -- he seems to be thriving playing the full 80mins -- ditto with Ben Hunt.

Griffin has the team playing much better than I thought he could, but I'll still need to see more before I want him to coach us beyond this year.

For sure Ari. We need a season of good footy, regardless of the final result, to restore Hook's credit.

What I see is a team playing as well as the 2012 Dogs, while missing his best strike weapon, having a centre/winger "playmaking", a superstar playing limited by niggles and an inconsistent halfback... realistically it could go wrong, but it's much more likely that it will get better than that it will get worse.

I think we have improved but there is a lot more we need to improve on. Locky has mentioned it in the last two games. Hunt, Macca and Hoffman to a lesser extent need to learn to close games out. We need to play smart and play field position when in front. We still seem immature in this department.

Agreed. Smart decision making is something that needs to be improved in the end of games. Ben Hunt's field goal attempt in round 2 comes to mind. He takes a shot with about 5mins to go with a 4min lead. With a 6pt lead then it is absolutely the right play, but it is dumb with a 4pt lead. This is mostly because if you miss and kick it properly (which he didn't) then it goes dead and the team gets a 7 tackle set beginning from the 20. Just one example but it sticks resonantly.

That said though, it's not something I fault Griffin with. Just something that needs to improve.

Oh, and on Griffin, thank god he's starting to use his bench more.

Thats the way to support your team.

so i should support the team the way you do? because thats the right and only way. I'm sure i should eat you're favourite foods because they are the right favourite foods. get a grip.
