Scott Prince Is Back - OFFICIAL!

Yeah, I've seen them play together in the U20's quite often as well, and Norman has always been hot and cold, and has always exhibited the same patterns, strengths and flaws as he has shown this year.

Not when they played together. That combination was a huge factor in taking us from the bottom of the ladder to the prelims that year. Hunt was playing well, but I recall Norman's form towards the end of that run was better and many thought so too.

And the part about Hunt organising the players really well and had them playing with depth... Talk about wishfull thinking!

That isn't wishful thinking, it's the truth. Compare our performances with Hunt at five eigth against Melbourne, Canterbury, Manly, Canberra and look at how much better our right side looks and how much our fringe runners benefit because Hunt is able to pass before the line and put bodies in motion.

But you left the part out where Norman was even worse, and was by far the biggest contributor to the side's failure this season.

Your opinion.

Mine is, Norman was the only half creating anything from Round 17-21 and his biggest problem was that he couldn't take charge of the situation. Which is fine, you don't expect rookie halves to do that & all of them have suffered similar symptoms, even the greats.

As the senior half, of course Wallace is going to receive more ball but that places him under much MORE pressure than Norman to perform and if he doesn't then he should come into line, like he should have last year.

I'm not sure what the future holds and I'm fine with accepting whatever works. If it doesn't, then it should be changed and not put off because we're afraid of dropping our senior half.

Re: Scott Prince

IMO what set Hunt apart from most in the 20's was that he had Yow Yeh on the end of his kicks..

Wallace and Hunt should be our starting halves combo. Wal seems to play a lot better when he's not burdened by injury and/or organising duties.

Let's agree to disagree about Norman being better than Wallace at any stage of the season...
Let's agree to disagree about Norman being a proper half at all for that matter!

I have never said that Wallace shouldn't be dropped if the circumstances warrant it, senior player or not, as I have previously stated.
Unlike what most people will think because of the way I defend him, I don't think Wallace is anything extraordinary.
I do think he is the no. 1 playmaker at the Broncos or available to the Broncos at present, and until we have 2 halves available which are capable of performing better than him day in day out, I find this talk of dropping him absurd.
I also find that because he's not the flashy style of player like a Shaun Johnson, people won't notice how much work he goes through and how many things he does well...

Perhaps true for others, but I've generally given credit where credit's due for Wallace. Even when he was terrible.

Re: Scott Prince

I would rather we sign an extremely creative young guy (Milford) over an older guy who has his best years a long way behind him. Prince won't win us a premiership and I doubt he would tutor our current crop of young halves into world beaters, so no thanks.

Re: Scott Prince

Ugh... Twitter reckon's the Hull deal's off he's headed our way. Probably the first dud decision White has made if true.

Re: Scott Prince

RLW just posted on Facebook that the Mole thinks he's coming to Brisbane... could be some truth to the tweets.

Re: Scott Prince

I think Prince would be a massive step backwards. I don't even know if he is really an improvement on Wallace. I mean, they are both kind of similar. Prince is a crisper passer but both take a bloody age to kick the ball and neither are great ball runners. Prince has a bit more vision and game winning ability, but he's nothing special nowadays. Really don't understand why we can't just give Hunt a shot.

Re: Scott Prince

He's a sookey whingey diver, do not want

Re: Scott Prince

I hate the little twirp because of his whinging. But I think he's better than Wallace, and better to have our young guys learning from.

Re: Scott Prince

I don't mind getting Prince on a one year contract and then we can sign Shaun Johnson in 2014 because he'll be off contract then.

My thoughts exactly

Re: Scott Prince

So we're not going after JT because he's 30 next year, but potentially going after Prince who is 33 next year.

Just write-off next year and plan to sign someone good for 2014 thanks.

Re: Scott Prince

Really don't understand why we can't just give Hunt a shot.

The only thing I can think of is that he might be a douche or something that we don't know of. Kinda like Brad Hodge - great player, but no one really liked him so he never really made it Internationally.

Re: Scott Prince

dafuq is with the Shaun Johnson obsession?

Re: Scott Prince

If no douches were a rule though I can't see why we'd sign Prince.

I really hope it's just one year with an option to extend to two. Prince at his best is far better than any of our current halves, he's also a former Bronco and his signing could see him possibly return to his best. Well hopefully anyway because I want us to be competitive. If Hoffman returns to his best our only weak position is halves and Prince is better than what we have.

Re: Scott Prince

He is the attacking spark to compliment the bland 'organizer' in Wallace.

Only 21 next year and shows a shitload more vision and creativity than any half we have to offer.
