Exactly why would the titans have to pay out Prince, if as reported Prince asked for a release from the last year of his contract?

I think the "Prince asked for a release" line is to help the Titans save face. Sounds better than "we like totally stuffed up the salary cap and so need to get rid of him". I think by him "asking" for a release then means the last year doesn't still count on the cap.

Norman at fb, Wallace to 6 and Prince at half. Macca to start playing 80 more often with Hunt on the bench. Hunt comes on to give macca a breather at 60 if required or play the last 15 for prince to manage his age/injuries. Hunt gets his final years appy under prince. Could learn a lot.

The signing reeks of desperation. If we could just manage to sign the good young halves coming through in QLD I would be happy.

true .. brisbane has fallen ass backwards into quality player signings in recent years (although Inglis ended up falling through) ... miss the days when the club had 'alpha' CEOs like John Ribot ...

At this point, I think Prince can be the answer to our most pressing issue: The lack of creativity in the halves dept.

If this strong talk of a 2 year contract is confirmed, I think Norman must move to the FB position and gain the experience that will hopefully assist him in improving his decision making, and allow him to move into the halves after Scott Prince retires.

I assume Wallace will move into 5/8, where I think he could be more of an asset, as he would have more time and space to execute.

This may unfortunately drive Hunt out of the club though... :001_unsure:

That's a risk, but with Hodgo being close to retirement, I see Hoffy moving into the 3/4's somewhere.

Of course, the opposite could be true, and we keep Hoffman at FB and give Norman a go at centre, where he could very well make a name for himself. Either way, Reed may need to start bulking up and eye a backrow bench spot...

What does this say to Norman and Hunt?

Norman at least has a shot at FB again but when McCullough is ready for 80 mins Hunt doesn't have a purpose in this side.

Really interesting buy... He must have had a massive blow out with the Titans. It's a big windfall for the Broncos. Scotty Prince is quality but only has two years at best left in him.

Interesting to see what impact this would have on morale? Wallace and Hunt would be pissed.

Prince obviously wants the 7 jersey.
