State of Origin 2022

I fully appreciate the desire from NSW to try and neutralise Cobbo and Coates in the air but it does seem a little surprising that no one is giving any thought to how to neutralise these two guys on the ground, because if either of them get into open space then in terms of speed JAC would be one of a very small handful of guys actually capable of catching either of them.

That might be a bit misleading though because some might be listed as fullbacks or centres.

I don't know what it is but I'm just not fully sold on Cotter and Nanai. I think a large reason for that is I'm not fully sold on the cows yet.

I just feel that whole squad is already maxed out with everyone playing to 100% of their ability and there's no more improvement to be had. When that happens it has the ability to make anyone in the squad look like stars.

Guys like Arrow are built for origin and moe phototaker did a brilliant job last year. Much like the whole cows team struggled when they had to play the panthers who are a different beast i feel like Cotter and Nanai might also struggle with the next step up to origin level.

Probably because it's been bugger all sample size. Slater looks to be going on short term form where he wants with Cotter/Cobbo/Nanai and disregarding years of form and good origin form with guys like Arrow/Mo/Oates missing out. But then he stick solid with Kaufusi/Coates even though better 'form' players are available.

What happens now if Nanai, Cobbo or Cotter have a shocker? Drop them after 1 game, see you in a few years? This situation is why I hate picking extremely raw blokes with limited NRL games when not necessary, you have a chance to Pearce/Mullen them.
 
Surely Grant starts, trying to get him to spark something off the bench seems a bit desperate for game 1.

Not a fan of playing Cobbo out of position to cater for Coates, Oates should of been picked and if he was going to go with Coates no matter what then don't pick Cobbo.

I think Nanai off the bench is a good option, should there be no injuries him coming on in the middle of the second half should be able spark something.
 
Not happy with the squad, to be honest.

Arrow not being in the 17 is insane, Mo missing out is strange, and Fifita should be on the bench.

Ask NSW who they want coming off the bench after 50mins between Fifita and Nanai, and I know the answer.

Not having a crack, yes we know Arrow is an origin player, but this is what happens when you do stupid shit you loose the trust, would any of those players who were involved in the 8 in a row do such thing?

Mo is injured pre sure

and fifita well he runs like a cat, not origin standard currently

I think the team is strong except Coates

If Arrow was being punished he wouldn't be in the squad.

Except Coates and Kaufusi. I just can't get behind him. He is genuinely terrible at Origin level.
