State Of Origin - General Discussion

Felise Kaufusi is in doubt.

His tackle on Scott, it was dangerous and it does warrant a charge. But I don't think he'll get any weeks for it. Early guilty plea should still see him play Origin.

But who knows? The NRL has been trying to rub that tackle out of the game.

Matt Scott has no business playing Origin this year. But they'll pick him. Reminds me of when they picked Myles last year in Game 1.

Thought I might compare the stats of the potential edge forwards for QLD.

Kaufusi - 9 games, 2 tries, 3 line-breaks, 8 offloads, 70.3 metres per game, 31.3 tackles per game @ 90% efficiency
Cooper - 12 games, 4 tries, 4 line-breaks, 7 offloads, 70.0 metres per game, 29.4 tackles per game @ 89% efficiency
Hess - 12 games, 4 tries, 6 line-breaks, 7 offloads, 93.0 metres per game, 33.4 tackles per game @ 89% efficiency
Papalii - 11 games, 2 tries, 3 line-breaks, 5 offloads, 125.3 metres per game, 26.3 tackles per game @ 90% efficiency
Guerra - 11 games, 2 tries, 1 line-break, 1 offload, 85.0 metres per game, 39.6 tackles per game @ 91% efficiency

Statistically speaking it's a bit of a crapshoot, each player has advantages in different areas. I'd personally go with Papalii starting on the left, Kaufusi starting on the right and Hess on the bench for impact, leaving Cooper & Guerra out of the team entirely. We need metres in the starting line-up, Scott & Napa aren't going to cut it, I think you have to start Papa for the added yardage.

James Roberts will not be picked if he isn't 100% fit.

Let's hope he isn't.

Blessing in disguise?

A)

I'd go option B and just hope that Morgan being in a different environment will spark him into a bit of form

Any option that doesn't include DCE is fine by me. We're not likely to win anyway, might as well look to the future without that soft prick in the maroon jersey!

I have to admit I'm loving the 'qld no chance' theme this year. After so much success I'm at peace with nsw winning and the fact that SOO will have little real impact on the Broncos. If we jag a win, either series or individually it will be great but the premiership is everything. Only bloke I'd really feel bad for would be Kevvie. Is it possible that Mal shot through for the same reasons that allegedly Cam Smith has stood down from rep duties ?

10am tomorrow at the Brewery team announced. Boys arrive at QRL headquarters tonight.

Michael Morgan has been guaranteed a spot in the side either at halfback or the bench.

Talk on social media that NSW will pick Tyson Frizzell at prop.

If the don't pick Klemmer, they are making a huge mistake. I get the Bullogs are playing like shit, but he's been one of their best. If he's not picked, it might make stopping their roll on easier.

Just hope we don't pick a mediocre guy like Glasby again over a talented player like Arrow, and gotta hope Matt Scott finally starts to deliver this season, he's been pretty bad.

Frizell at prop makes sense, would enable them to start Sims and have the added go-forward of Vaughan off the bench.
