What about Gagai on the wing or centre?

Not sure if he would be considered after his stuff up in the emerging origin camp though.

Doubt he'll be considered after he was let go from the camp at the start of the year. I think the best option would be

1. Inglis
2. Boyd
3. Tate
4. Hodges
5. Copley

Any chance meninga would put slater on the bench at fullback and start Inglis there?

Perhaps ....

.. but i reckon they'd go with

1. Inglis
2. Boyd
3. Chambers
4. Hodges
5. Tate

No chance I would be stunned if he did that or even considered it

NSW have the leverage of QLD injury wise. The Morris twins being absent is a big blow obviously but so far NSW don't have a player in the spine injured or absent while QLD do which affects the Maroons more than the Blues.

Probably, and that would be a mistake IMO.

My NSW team for Game 2

1: Jarryd Hayne
2: Michael Gordon/Josh Mansour
3: Michael Jennings
4: Will Hopoate
5: Daniel Tupou
6: Josh Reynolds
7: Trent Hodkinson
8: Aaron Woods
9: Robbie Farah
10: James Tamou
11: Ryan Hoffman
12: Greg Bird
13: Paul Gallen

14: Luke Lewis
15: Anthony Watmough
16: Beau Scott/Trent Merrin
17: Tony Williams

Almost the same team as the team from the first game. I would love to see Mansour get a shot at origin and if he isn't picked I would like Gordon to get another game. He is an extremely underrated player and was quite solid in his sole origin game to date. Hoppa is a pro and I would be stunned if he wasn't picked.

As a Qlder I also would love this side. Mansour is a gun but Hoppa will be get steamrolled against Inglis Nathan Merritt style.

NRL.com's QLD & NSW side for Game 2.

1. Billy Slater
2. Darius Boyd
3. Greg Inglis
4. Justin Hodges
5. Brent Tate
6. Johnathan Thurston
7. Daly Cherry-Evans
8. Matt Scott
9. Cameron Smith (c)
10. Nate Myles
11. Sam Thaiday
12. Matt Gillett
13. Corey Parker

14. Anthony Milford
15. Aidan Guerra
16. Ben Te'o
17. Chris McQueen

1. Jarryd Hayne
2. Josh Dugan
3. Beau Scott
4. Michael Jennings
5. Daniel Tupou
6. Josh Reynolds
7. Trent Hodkinson
8. Aaron Woods
9. Robbie Farah
10. James Tamou
11. Ryan Hoffman
12. Greg Bird
13. Paul Gallen (c)

14. Trent Merrin
15. Anthony Watmough
16. Luke Lewis
17. Tony Williams

Dugan on the wing?

I would much rather prefer a specialist winger than someone who only plays there part time and only when a crisis strikes. I would pick Josh Mansour or Michael Gordon.

Well, it looks like Inglis is out.

It's just looking more and more likely that NSW will win this series.

Did i just hear barba get mentioned in an origin thread? Yeh, thatll do me.

This whole game is a worry.

If Inglis DCE and Slater are out, which looks likely, we lose so much experience and strike power that has built combinations over many years. That's irreplaceable.

Given that this game is in some ways one of the most important games in Origin history, the pressure will be enormous. Whoever plays will be going to be thrown into a very very deep end.

I reckon Mal will put Boyd at FB. I don't see Barba anywhere near Origin standard atm

Morgan and milford would be next in line. Barba wouldnt even come into it. I agree that the most likely move will be boyd to fullback, chambers to centre and vidot to wing. Vidot has bombed so many tries this year, and his form is definitely down on how he started, but hes basically all we have. No slater or inglis though and i think NSW have this in the bag. :(

Sadly, I agree. The Qld spine is broken and probably the 2 if not 3 major strike weapons we have look like they are gone.

I may be giving Barba just enough rope to hang both myself and him, but him coming into form last week may be the best timing the Broncos and QLD could have hoped for.

He came within an ants dick of playing Origin in 2012 yet missed out for the sake of Slater, as you would expect. Now, thanks entirely to injury granted, he has a chance to finally don the Maroon. As I said about Hunt last week (and was correct :spy:), if Barba has any aspirations at all to play State of Origin, he will come out on Monday Night and single handedly tear both Milford and the Raiders a new arsehole to share between them.

Considering who we are talking about, I would be very reluctant to write him off. JT and Cherry Evans/Hunt take the pressures of being playmaker off him completely, Mal tells him to go nuts and Barba could play himself back into as close a form as 2012 as he will ever get again.

Origin is all about combinations and execution, not just individual brilliance

Just being realistic. QLD had the majority of possession in game 1 and 80% of it was on the blues line and we could only manage 1 try. Take out the 2 best attacking weapons in our team and we are in trouble.
