I'm ready to call it......... Inglis to Souths

Only in Rugby League... [eusa_doh

If he goes to Souths.

Can the Broncos sue him & the Storm. He had an agreement.

(remember Turner had a handshake agreement with the Titans & they could have won a court case, but they came to an agreement with the Storm)

See the Storm were involved in another player stuff up.

Better off without him anyway, we have so many kids coming through he was only going to stand in the way of one of them. Lets develop what we have and spend the extra coin on signing Thaiday up for life.

I'll be gutted if this falls through. If we get Ingls I'm convinced we make the GF minimum. Without him we fall back in the pack.

With all of the inuendo over who is responsible fpr paying the 30k - I don't really care - it will be highly embarassing if he defects to South Sydney given everyone in th RL community were resigned to him coming to Brisbane.

Have we started our offcial marketing campaign for 2011 yet? Think of the costs involved in scrapping materials etc.

This is a farce. Every football code is laughing at Rugby league right now.

Brisbane should pay for Inglis costs. Losing Inglis now will hurt us more financially. Just pay it. Get him here.

the problem with us paying those legal fees seems to be that it would be included under our cap next year and from what i have read we don't have the room, hence why we are not paying them

Moral of the story... The Salary cap is a joke and the NRL is destroying its own game....

End thread.

I'm starting to get sick of this game to be honest.[/quote:1gfyyrlp]

Totally agree mate, it is really hard at the moment to get motivated to even care about a game that is destroying itself with pathetic decisions both on and off the field.

I guess we just have to have faith that the independent commission will put the game back on the right track. Apparently once it's established there are millions in savings which will be found from the get go. The IC will also be hell-bent on gaining a better TV deal that will see new money coming into the clubs. I think the real fruits will be seen in three to five years time when that new money is available.

Kind of hard to believe the game is still in a good position given the self inflicted wounds from the last five years.

But why?? Why does legal fees come under the cap?? How **** stupid, again our salary cap system is a farce.

I think his legal fees were part of the rorting they were doing.

Any benefits paid by clubs count under the cap. If Brisbane pay, it comes out of our cap. If Melbourne pay, it comes out if their cap.

If Inglis pays himself it has no cap implication

the NRL will need to take a real hard look at Souths if they sign Inglis... they would need to pay him 500k a year plus include his legal fees under the cap... surely they haven't got that room. what club has 500k+ available under the cap at this stage

It mentions that they will probably have to let Asotasi go if that's the case.

Amateur hour.

Simply poor management if we don't have 30k room under the cap.Thankfully, the virus upstairs (Cullen) will **** off in December, and I hope he takes that clown Henjak with him.The club has well and truly turned into a shambles since WB left.

its not the first posturing by Gainey and Inglis during this saga, there are plenty of similarities with the titans attempt which ended with Brisbane bumping their offer.

I may be wrong but i think Souths are a pawn in this to make Brisbane pay the 30k, It just appears like too much of an extreme back flip but either way we need to move on, either call his bluff and risk losing him and some face, signage, gate takings, memberships etc. or find the room for the 30k either in the marquee or 2nd tier salary cap. I think we are too committed commercially to walk away now.

Bruno to make announcement at 3pm today, heard we are walking away.

nah hes just re affirming that we are committed to GI and that his signature will be secured by the end of the week if not sooner. That plus he was on the grassy knoll and that it was ok cause its his dog.

For F*** sake. Just pay the money and get on with it. Surely it's not that hard to come up with the money. This game has just single handedly shot itself in the head. How else can something that insignificant stop the Inglis saga from happening?
