Storm refusing to release Inglis.... updated

personally I think Brisbane should just say **** it and pay it.

he's one of the worlds best players, arguably the best when on form, and we're dithering over 30k?

unbelievable. he would probably earn us that at least in sponsorship/tickets etc.

there should always be exceptions to the norm, this should be one of them.

I hope the head honchos don't **** our chance our chance to send Locky out a winner by being stubborn idiots.

not 100% sure but I think it would count to the salary cap hence why we won't pay it.

I tend to think you are on the money here Beads. I think if the Broncos decide to pay it, Schubert and Co should consider we have done it for the good of the game (ie keeping GI in the NRL) and not count it on our salary cap. I mean ultimately I still think the Storm should pay it and it should count towards their cap; but for the sake of putting the issue to rest I would be happy with us to pay it and it not go on our cap.

I actually agree on this as well Flutter - the way I see it, Broncs should just be like eff it, we'll pay it but only if the NRL cuts us a deal with the cap. I know other teams will blow up about it - but we're doing it for the good of the game. Seriously - the NRL are happy to just let him go for this petty bill? pffft.

He could have already joined the Bunnies if he wanted to, simple fact is he wanted to move to Brissy to be with his missus. I'd choose Rugby Union in France before the Bunnies.
 
This is getting ridiculous and frustrating since we have no idea what's going on, I really hope the talk of him going to play Union in France is bullshit [icon_non
 
Well if he goes to another NRL team, they will be in the same boat.

Either pay up or the Storm won't release him.

The Storm were the ones that said they would pay the legal fees & now they are reneging on the deal.
 
We don't have the money to pay Inglis's thing, but we have the money to sign Bott, Te Reo and Vella.

I think those players have got gigs with feeder clubs. The broncos haven't signed them, they don't count to the cap so your point is meaningless.

I think if he went to another NRL team the storm would make all this go away and just give him a release. I truly believe if he had signed for any other team than the Broncos that the storm would be being such dicks.

Wouldn't be surprised - and without a doubt a lot of ppl in the league community don't want to see him at the BRONCS. Woudl be a real shame if this all falls through IMO.
 
Man the Broncos front office will have eggs on their faces if he's not in Broncos colours next year. I imagine there has been increased season ticket sales, membership sales, and increased sponsor interest. People should know better, until a person has physically signed a contract, you don't confirm anything.
 
I've pretty much resigned to the fact that he'll probably end up at Souths considering they say they'll pay the bill and we wont.

That's all it boils down to in the end [icon_non
 
I am over the GI saga.

He is causing too much drama already & he isn't even with us yet.
